Guangxi Normal University is located in Guilin, an international tourist attraction and a national historical and cultural city. It is a university jointly established by the Ministry of Education and the People's Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, and it is a "basic capacity building project for universities in the central and western regions". There are three campuses: Wangcheng, Yucai and Yanshan, with a campus area of 4 100 mu. There are more than 2,400 employees in vocational education, nearly 27,000 full-time undergraduates, nearly 6,000 master students, more than 200 doctoral students, nearly 1600 international students and more than 20,000 adult students.

At present, it has established cooperation and exchange relations with more than 200 universities and institutions in more than 40 countries and regions, and established 3 Confucius Institutes and 1 Confucius Classroom overseas. The school is the demonstration base for studying in China of the Ministry of Education, the Chinese education base of the Overseas Chinese Affairs Bureau of the United Front Work Department of the CPC Central Committee, the China government scholarship of the Ministry of Education, the Hanban Confucius Institute scholarship and the Guangxi government ASEAN scholarship.
