1906, Zhang Jian attached Tonghai Agricultural School to Tongzhou Normal School and became the agricultural department of the school.
1In August, 952, the national departments were adjusted, and the agricultural science of Nantong College merged with the agricultural education department of Sunan Institute of Culture and Education and the agricultural department of Jiangnan University to establish Subei Agricultural College, the predecessor of Jiangsu Agricultural College.
The specialized courses of literature and history in Tongzhou Normal School were merged with the specialized courses of mathematics and physics in Yangzhou Middle School, the specialized courses of fine arts in Danyang Art School in southern Jiangsu and the specialized courses of education in Subei Normal School to form Subei Normal College, the predecessor of Yangzhou Normal College.

From 1992 to 2004, Yangzhou University experienced three stages: loose association, substantial merger and comprehensive reform and adjustment. By 2008, Yangzhou University had eight campuses, including Lianhuachi Campus, Slender West Lake Campus, Wen Hui Road Campus, Jiangyang Road North Campus, Jiangyang Road South Campus, Huaihai Road Campus, Yanfu Road Campus and Yangzi Gold Campus. Set up departments such as literature, social development, law, education science and technology, news and media, foreign languages, mathematics, physical science and technology, chemistry and chemical engineering, physical education, mechanical engineering, information engineering, architecture, water conservancy, energy and power engineering, environmental science and engineering, agriculture, horticulture and plant protection, and animal science and technology. There are 24 colleges, including Veterinary College, Biological Science and Technology College, Medical College, Economics College, Management College, Tourism Cooking College (Food Science and Engineering College), Art College and Guangling College.
