On February 9, 2009, "Dongguan No.4 Senior Middle School" was officially listed, and the school held a grand listing ceremony.

Yang Xiaotang, director of Dongguan Education Bureau, Wang Xuhui, deputy director, Yuan Dongping, secretary of Tang Zhong Town Committee, Li Zhihui, mayor and other leading officials attended the listing ceremony. Liu Jibang, President of Dongguan No.4 Middle School, Yuan Dongping, Secretary of Party Committee of Tang Zhong Town, and Yang Xiaotang, Director of Dongguan Education Bureau, delivered speeches at the meeting respectively. Nearly 3000 teachers and students of Dongguan No.4 Middle School witnessed another milestone in the development history of the school.

The predecessor of Dongguan No.4 Senior Middle School is Dongguan Qunying School, which was founded in 1995 and was originally a private school. It was merged in 2002 and transformed into a private school. In the six years after the implementation of the merger, the school has made outstanding achievements in running a school and created one glory after another. From "Dongguan Green School" to "Guangdong Green School" and "National Green School Advanced School", the school has been established as "Dongguan First-class School" and "Guangdong First-class School", and its college entrance examination scores have been improved year by year. The school's "artistic style" is distinctive and remarkable. According to the provisions of the overall layout adjustment plan of Dongguan senior high school, the school was transformed into a public school directly under Dongguan and renamed as "Dongguan No.4 Senior High School".
