Datong's "Dazhong Pit" was selected as a national primary school Chinese textbook and junior high school English textbook in the 1960s and 1970s, which had a great influence in the whole province and even the whole country. Visitors from all over the country who flock to Datong's "mass graves" have to wait in line for three days before they have a chance to visit the museum. To this end, the local government has specially built 3000-4000 square meters of guest houses. According to statistics, Datong "Dazhong Pit" Education Museum has received more than 20,000 visitors from home and abroad since its establishment.
