CET-4 and CET-6 are large-scale standardized tests sponsored by the Ministry of Education of People's Republic of China (PRC) and organized and implemented by the Education Examinations Institute of the Ministry of Education of People's Republic of China (PRC) (formerly the Examination Center of the Ministry of Education). They are national teaching examinations.
Its purpose is to promote college English teaching in China, measure college students' English ability objectively and accurately, and provide services for improving the teaching quality of college English courses in China.
College English test is divided into Band 4 and Band 6, which are conducted twice a year in the morning and afternoon on the same day. From June 5438+ 10, 2005, with a score of 7 10, the National College English Band 4 and Band 6 Examination Committee was entrusted by the Ministry of Education of People's Republic of China (PRC) to issue transcripts to each candidate.
Reform evaluation:
Cloze test was cancelled in CET-4 and CET-6, and single sentence translation was changed to whole paragraph translation. CET-4 and CET-6 have finally taken the step of reform, but the translation from single sentence to whole paragraph has increased the score and difficulty of the topic and increased the learning burden for students. And fundamentally speaking, the change of question type is only the innovation of examination form. How to reform the evaluation model of English learning, make English education return to the attribute of language tools and break the English worship complex is the key to the problem.
The importance of English education can not be ignored, but English is a tool for language communication after all, and English learning is not academic research and cutting-edge science. CET-4 and CET-6 potentially encourage students to become examination machines, which has deviated from the original intention of English education. It is an improvement to cancel cloze, and the form of CET-4 and CET-6 is closer to GRE and TOEFL. However, compared with the social worship complex of CET-4 and CET-6, it is not enough to reform only the examination items of CET-4 and CET-6.
