Born in 1906, Jack is the only child of Si Tuleideng and his wife Irene. Like his father, Jack was born in Hangzhou, a beautiful city in the south of the Yangtze River. When Jack was a child, he lived with his parents in a missionary house designed and built by his grandfather Si Tuleideng in Jesuits Lane, Hangzhou. His life was comfortable and quiet.

It is said that later, Jack became a priest in a small town in Mississippi, and his income was too small to take care of his father who returned home after he was old. This is also a great regret for Jack himself.
