Yunxian No.1 Middle School was founded in 1940. It was originally called the Eighth Normal School, but later it was renamed. It has been called Yunxian Junior Normal School, Yunxian Suburb Middle School, Yunxian Xincheng Middle School and Yunxian Middle School. It was renamed as 1985 in May. Since the establishment of the Third Temple in the suburbs, the school has also changed its address several times. 1966 moved to the current address in March. The current address is located at the intersection of Jiefang Road and Chengbei Road in Chengguan.

Yunxian No.1 Middle School stands in Qinba Mountain area beside Hanshui River, which is a municipal demonstration high school. Since 1940 was founded, after 65 years of construction and development, the school has made certain achievements and occupied an important position in the city's education pattern.
