First, school profile:
Northeast Normal University was founded in 1946, formerly known as Northeastern University. It is the first comprehensive university in northeast China. 1950 according to the needs of national education development, it was renamed Northeast Normal University directly under the Ministry of Education. 1953, the school began to recruit and train graduate students. 1958 was placed under the management of Jilin Province and renamed as Jilin Normal University.
As of May 2023, the school has free campuses and Jingyue campuses, with 2 1 college, 82 undergraduate majors, 24 first-class disciplines authorized by doctoral degrees, 37 first-class disciplines authorized by master degrees, 2 1 doctoral degree authorization points, 22 post-doctoral research stations and 65 full-time teachers.
As of June 5438+February 3, 20201,the library of Northeast Normal University and the reference rooms of various colleges have a total collection of about 3.774 million books, and the library is rich in ancient books, ranking among the best in the national university libraries.
Second, cooperation and exchanges:
As of May 2023, the school has established cooperation and exchange relations with 275 universities and scientific research institutions in more than 30 countries and regions, including the United States, Canada, Britain, Australia, South Korea, Japan and Russia.
The school has established six Confucius Institutes, which are the first-class bases for subject innovation and intelligence introduction in colleges and universities, established Rutgers Newark College of Northeast Normal University in cooperation with Rutgers New Jersey State University in the United States, and led China-Mongolia 12 universities to establish the China-Mongolia University Alliance.
The Ministry of Education, the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other central ministries and commissions have set up international Chinese teacher training bases, Chinese language education bases, foreign aid education bases and China ASEAN Education and Training Center. The China Preparatory School for Students Studying in Japan, which is jointly organized by the Chinese and Japanese governments, is an important base for serving the strategy of strengthening the country through talents and promoting cultural exchanges between China and Japan.
