Up to now, Yunnan Art College has gathered a large number of famous artists. Oil painter, sculptor Liao, violinist Professor Li Dan, singer (translator of Les Miserables) and other experts and scholars have taught in the college successively. There are 625 faculty members in the college, including 525 in the university headquarters and 0/00 in the affiliated schools. Among the 274 full-time teachers in the university headquarters, 35 have the title of professor, 103 have the title of associate professor, 5 are experts enjoying the special allowance of the State Council, 4 are experts with outstanding contributions at the provincial level, and 4 are experts enjoying the special allowance of the Yunnan provincial government.
Yunnan Art College has 10 teaching units: Conservatory of Music, Academy of Fine Arts, Academy of Art and Design, Academy of Drama, Academy of Dance, Department of Film and Television Art, Department of Art and Culture, College of Adult Education, Wenhua College (independent college, jointly organized with enterprises) and affiliated art schools; There are six master's degree awarding points: musicology, fine arts, drama and opera, dance, art and design art; Undergraduate major 2 1, covering all majors in the catalogue of art disciplines promulgated by the Ministry of Education, involving comprehensive art disciplines such as plastic arts, performing arts and language arts, with a complete range of art disciplines; There are four provincial key disciplines: musicology, fine arts, drama and opera art, a full-time national folk art research institute, music, art, dance, drama research rooms and national folk art exhibition halls, and relatively complete experimental practice places and scientific research instruments and facilities, which provide conditions for college teachers to achieve impressive results in teaching, scientific research and creation. The college has a wide and unique influence in the creation and research fields of printmaking, oil painting, national drama, music, dance and other disciplines. Every year, all kinds of national art professional competitions are won by the college. From 2000/kloc-0 to 2003, the research, creation and performance achievements of the college won 278 national and provincial awards, participated in more than 200 international and domestic exhibitions and performances, published 42 academic monographs, and completed 25 national, provincial and ministerial scientific research projects.
Journal of yunnan arts institute is an academic publication sponsored by Yunnan Art College and publicly distributed at home and abroad. In recent years, journals have won the attention and praise of academic circles with their strong academic consciousness and open academic mind.
Yunnan Art College covers an area of 184 mu, with a total construction area of 70,306 square meters. The college library has 200,000 printed books and 6,543,8+2,000 electronic books (films), and subscribes to hundreds of periodicals every year. Now, 800,000 yuan is invested in book construction every year. Based on the construction of teaching practice places such as studio, drama experimental theater, small concert hall and art museum, the college has built a new experimental theater with a total performance and exhibition area of 12068 square meters.
The International Art Exchange Center of Yunnan Arts University is responsible for foreign exchanges and cooperation and the education of international students. More than 400 foreign students from more than 20 countries are studying in our college. Our college has established inter-school relations with more than 20 universities in the United States, Japan, Germany, Italy, Thailand, Vietnam and other countries, carried out exchanges and cooperation at all levels, and set up a studio in Paris International Art City, France, to build a platform for artists to go global. At present, the college has invested 29.69 million yuan to build an international student building with a building area of 14620 square meters, which is expected to be put into use in September 2006.
Following the school-running philosophy of "inheriting tradition, being compatible with Chinese and foreign countries, learning from the people and serving the society", Yunnan Art College has created a large number of high-quality works of art based on Yunnan's rich and colorful national cultural soil and taking the mission of inheriting national artistic culture and cultivating artistic education talents, which has delivered nearly 10,000 excellent art education teachers and artistic creation talents to Yunnan Province and made due contributions to the construction and development of Yunnan's economy and culture. There are 4,320 full-time undergraduate and junior college students, 84 graduate students, 2,768 adult students, 434 secondary school students/kloc-0, and 483 independent secondary school students/kloc-0.
In 2004, Yunnan Art College passed the undergraduate teaching level evaluation of the Ministry of Education with "good" results, and the teaching level and development characteristics of the college were highly praised by the expert evaluation team. At present, the development goal of Yunnan Art College is to strive to build the school into a comprehensive art university that can meet the needs of social, economic and cultural development in Yunnan Province and spread to the whole country and Southeast Asia in 2020. Art disciplines are complete, including literature, education, ethnology, history, management, engineering and other first-class disciplines, with Yunnan national cultural characteristics and the overall strength and level of running a school integrating teaching, scientific research and creation.
