Yao Nai was a famous essayist in Qing Dynasty and the founder of Tongcheng School. He, Fang Bao and Liu Da are also called "Three Ancestors of Tongcheng". Yao Nai occupies a very important position in the history of China ancient literature, and is praised as "the first person in China ancient prose" by later generations. He advocates that the article should be interoperable with "reason", "textual research" and "rhetoric".

Yao Nai was born in 173 1 and died in 18 15. His names are Ji Chuan and Meng Gu, and they are descendants of Yao family in Xing Wu. Yao Nai was born in an official and scholarly family, and received a very good education at an early age. Because his uncle had a good personal relationship with Liu Da, one of the founders of Tongcheng School, Yao Nai was able to study Confucian classics with his uncle and study books with Liu Da since childhood.

When Yao Nai was born, the Yao family had already begun to decline, and Yao Nai's uncle attached great importance to it. Especially later, after Liu Da began to teach Yao Nai, both of them had high expectations for Yao Nai, saying that he was "crowned when he was young, and once hung in the sky" and "came from behind and waited for his son". But in fact, Yao Nai's road to the imperial examination was not smooth.

In the fifteenth year of Qianlong, Yao Nai was twenty years old, and he was awarded in the examination. Since then, he has taken six examinations for the Ministry of Rites, and only at the last time was he admitted to Jinshi and awarded to Jishi Shu.

In the thirty-first year of Qianlong, Yao Nai was transferred to the Ministry of War because of the change of the museum. Soon after, he served as the minister of etiquette and was in charge of the musical instrument department. Since then, Yao Nai has served as the deputy examiner after taking the provincial examinations in Shandong and Hunan, and will try his best to work with the examiner and Guangdong Provincial Department of Punishment.

In the thirty-eighth year of Qianlong, the imperial court opened the Siku Quanshu Museum, and Yao Nai was recommended as its editor. The editor of Si Ku Quan Shu Guan must be an academician to fill the post, and Yao Nai can take up the post, which is actually an exception. This semester, until Yao Nai was forty-four, it was written by "Four Ku Quanshu". After writing, Yao Nai asked to resign and begged for support. North Korea's ministers, including Yu Minzhong, a college student, have kept them and given them high-ranking officials, but they were all rejected by Yao Nai.

After leaving the officialdom, Yao Nai began to devote himself to the cause of great love. Since he ascended the throne for forty-two years, he has given lectures in Yangzhou Meihua Academy, Anqing Jingfu Academy, Shexian Academy and Nanjing Zhongshan Academy, with children all over the southern provinces.

Yao Nai is a litterateur, who studied under Liu Da, one of the "Three Ancestors of Tongcheng". Tongcheng School's ancient prose biography, from Fang Bao to an article named Hainei, contacted Zhenchuan, benefited from Liu Daji in the same city and arrived in Yao Nai, which was a great success. Therefore, Yao Nai is also one of the "three ancestors of Tongcheng School", and because Tongcheng School is a masterpiece in his hands, he also said: "Tongcheng School's family law has been established so far, with Gui Xiang in the south pole and Zhao Yan in the north." Zhou Shuchang of Licheng said: "The article in the world is in Tongcheng!"

In the forty-fourth year of Qianlong, after Liu Da's death, Yao Nai became the leading core of Tongcheng School, and his painstaking compilation of Ancient Ci became the "benchmark" of Tongcheng School, which still has great influence.

Yao Nai devoted his life to promoting Tongcheng School until his death at the age of eighty-five. With the efforts of him and his successors, Tongcheng School continued until the birth of Yan Fu, Lin Shu and new literature. ?
