Legal analysis: China has six national defense laws and regulations, namely, the National Defense Law, the National Defense Education Law, the Reserve Officers Law, the Military Facilities Protection Law, the Air Defense Law and the Military Service Law.

Legal basis:

People's Republic of China (PRC) National Defense Law Article 1 This Law is formulated in accordance with the Constitution for the purpose of building and consolidating national defense, ensuring the smooth progress of reform, opening up and socialist modernization, and realizing the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.

Article 2 This Law is applicable to the military activities carried out by the state to guard against and resist aggression, stop armed subversion and division, and safeguard national sovereignty, unity, territorial integrity, security and development interests, as well as military-related political, economic, diplomatic, scientific, technological and educational activities.

Law of People's Republic of China (PRC) on National Defense Education Article 1 This Law is formulated in accordance with the National Defense Law and the Education Law in order to popularize and strengthen national defense education, carry forward the spirit of patriotism and promote the construction of national defense and socialist spiritual civilization.

Article 2 National defense education is the foundation of building and consolidating national defense and an important way to enhance national cohesion and improve the quality of the whole people.

Law of People's Republic of China (PRC) on Reserve Officers Article 1 This Law is formulated in accordance with the Constitution and the Military Service Law in order to improve the system of reserve officers, the mobilization system of national armed forces and the construction of national defense reserve forces. Article 2 The term "reserve officers" as mentioned in this Law refers to reserve officers who have been designated as reserve officers at or above the platoon level or professional and technical posts at or above the junior level of the People's Liberation Army, who have been awarded the corresponding ranks of reserve officers and registered by the military service organs.

Law of People's Republic of China (PRC) on the Protection of Military Facilities Article 1 This Law is formulated in accordance with the Constitution in order to protect the safety of military facilities, ensure their efficiency and normal military activities, strengthen the modernization of national defense, consolidate national defense and resist aggression.

People's Republic of China (PRC) Civil Air Defense Law Article 1 This Law is formulated for the purpose of effectively organizing civil air defense, protecting the safety of people's lives and property and ensuring the smooth progress of socialist modernization.

Article 2 Civil air defense is an integral part of national defense. According to the needs of national defense, the state mobilizes and organizes the masses to take protective measures to prevent and mitigate the harm of air strikes.

Civil air defense implements the policy of long-term preparation, key construction and combination of peacetime and wartime, and implements the principle of coordinated development with economic construction and combination with urban construction.

Article 1 of the Military Service Law of People's Republic of China (PRC) is based on Article 55 of the Constitution of People's Republic of China (PRC): "It is the sacred duty of every citizen in People's Republic of China (PRC) to defend the motherland and resist aggression. This Law is formulated in accordance with "It is a glorious duty for People's Republic of China (PRC) citizens to perform military service and join militia organizations" and other relevant provisions.
