Medical insurance for college students?
The medical insurance system for college students refers to the insurance system established in the form of social insurance to provide protection for medical expenses of college students due to illness. In China, free medical care for college students began at 1952. This system played a great role in the initial stage, but with the development of society, this system can no longer meet the needs of the development of colleges and universities in China.

In order to solve this problem, many colleges and universities have carried out relevant reforms, and the medical insurance expenses for college students are shared by students, schools and the state. At present, the basic model is free medical care plus accidental injury insurance; All the state-funded medical subsidies are distributed to students, and schools basically no longer bear them; Now we rely on public medical care for minor illnesses and medical insurance for serious illnesses.

There is still serious unfairness in the medical insurance system for college students in China. Because universities have subordinates, provinces, secondary vocational schools and higher vocational schools, different schools have different medical insurance subsidies. At present, the state subsidizes 60 yuan as a medical subsidy for each student in subordinate colleges and universities, and 40 yuan for each student in provincial colleges and universities, and this only covers the college students enrolled in the plan. The rest of the universities and colleges have no funds.
