Yunnan Vocational College of Special Education is the only independent public vocational college of special education in southwest China, which is under the management of Yunnan Provincial Department of Education. As of May, 20021year, the college consists of Chenggong Wujiaying Campus and Xishan Palm Tree Campus, with a total net land area of 15 1.05 mu and a construction area of more than 40,000 square meters. There are more than 2,000 higher vocational students and more than 400 secondary vocational students.

As of May 20021year, the college has established three departments and two departments, namely, the Department of Ideological and Political Education, the Department of Basic Education, the Department of Economic Information, the Department of Art, and the Department of Special Education and Public Service. There are 13 three-year colleges.

By May, 20021year, the college had built four language laboratories, 120 seats, 580 teaching computers and 53 multimedia classrooms. On-campus training rooms 15, off-campus practice bases14, and 75 cooperative enterprises.

Among the teachers, 2 won the Special Education Park Award of the State Bank of Communications, 2 won the "Ten Thousand Talents Program" of Yunnan Province, 1 won the "Demonstration Career Guidance Award" of the National Vocational Skills Competition for the Disabled, and many teachers won various awards at or above the provincial level.
