National defense law

Article 40 Through national defense education, the state enables citizens to enhance their national defense concepts, master national defense knowledge, carry forward the spirit of patriotism, and consciously fulfill their national defense obligations. Popularizing and strengthening national defense education is the common responsibility of the whole society.

In order to build and consolidate national defense and ensure the smooth progress of socialist modernization, People's Republic of China (PRC)'s national defense law is formulated in accordance with the Constitution. The Fifth Session of the Eighth National People's Congress was revised and adopted on March 2007 1997, and it will come into force on March 2007 1997.
