The Central Audio-visual Education Center was established in 1978, which is a public institution directly under the Ministry of Education of People's Republic of China (PRC).
The main responsibilities of the Central Audio-visual Education Center are:
1, develop multimedia teaching materials, and carry out research, exchange and service of multimedia teaching materials;
2. Develop educational and teaching resources and build educational and teaching information resources;
3. To undertake the personnel training, resource integration, transmission, scientific research support and application guidance, technical support and services of the national modern distance education project for primary and secondary schools;
4. Organize research and experiments on the theory and application of educational technology and information technology in schools, and develop, transform and popularize relevant research results;
5, to carry out various educational technology training;
6. Hosting the periodical "China Audio-visual Education";
