Primary school English teaching concept
According to the English Curriculum Standard for Full-time Compulsory Education (Experimental Draft) and the Basic Requirements for English Curriculum Teaching in Primary Schools (Trial) formulated by the Ministry of Education, English teaching in primary schools should follow the following basic concepts:

1. Facing all students and paying attention to quality education.

In English teaching in primary schools, we should face all students and implement quality education correctly. Teachers are required to determine the guiding ideology of learner-centered and learning-centered in the process of English teaching in primary schools. Student-centered means that English teachers in primary schools are required to closely combine with students' real life, consider the cognitive level and psychological development level of primary school students, and consider the learning requirements and individual differences of students of different ages. Student-centered refers to asking primary school English teachers not to impart knowledge in English classes and not to replace students' learning with teachers' teaching. English classes in primary schools must enable students to learn English in their daily lives. Through speaking, listening, doing, singing, acting and playing, primary school students can feel the joy of learning English, thus cultivating their interest in learning English. In teaching activities, a harmonious relationship between teachers and students is sometimes more important than teaching methods. In the process of teaching, teachers should appear as friends and helpers of primary school students and respect every student. We should pay special attention to those students who have difficulties in English learning, provide primary school students with as many opportunities to practice English as possible, encourage them to make all attempts and protect their enthusiasm.

2. Highlight students' subjectivity and respect individual differences.

Return the classroom to the students. "Play" is the content of children's life, and "game" is an important way for children to learn. From this understanding, "activity" should be the main form of English teaching in primary schools.

Relocate the relationship between teachers and students. English teaching in primary schools is a process of communication, benign interaction and common development between teachers and students. Respect individual differences and let our teachers realize that students are different. Teachers should teach children with different differences so that every child can gain something.

3. Adopt activities and advocate experiential participation.

In English teaching, what we call "activity" actually refers to students' active participation, interactive learning and exploration in the process of English teaching, with the goal of developing students' comprehensive ability to use English language.

4. Pay attention to encouraging evaluation and promote students' development.

Traditional evaluation is single and only emphasizes the screening function of evaluation. According to English Curriculum Standards, teachers should give full play to the inspiring role of evaluation in English teaching in primary schools. In English teaching, teachers should evaluate students more accurately and appropriately, encourage more and criticize less, and always pay attention to the incentive of evaluation. They should not only pay attention to correcting students' mistakes, but also pay attention to the ways and methods of error correction, so as to avoid improper error correction causing students to have negative evaluation fear and damaging students' self-esteem and self-confidence.

5. Develop curriculum resources and expand learning channels.

Curriculum resources can be divided into text resources, audio-visual resources, network resources and physical resources. At the same time, teachers and students themselves are also valuable first course resources.

Basic requirements of English teaching in primary schools

The promulgation of the Outline of Basic Education Curriculum Reform marks that China's basic education has entered a brand-new era-the era of curriculum reform. The implementation of National English Curriculum Standards, like a spring breeze, has brought spring breath and vitality to foreign language teaching in China's basic education, and has also made a qualitative change in the way primary school students learn English.

According to the physical and mental characteristics and development needs of primary school students, the purpose of primary school English curriculum is to stimulate students' interest in learning English, cultivate their positive attitude towards learning English, and build their initial self-confidence in learning English; Cultivate students' sense of language and good foundation of pronunciation and intonation; Make them form the ability of simple daily communication in English and lay the foundation for further study.

"Basic Requirements for English Teaching in Primary Schools" points out that according to the characteristics of primary school students' learning, English teaching in primary schools should create an active teaching model. The focus of teaching is to cultivate students' ability to communicate in language. English teaching in primary schools does not explain grammatical concepts. We should make full use of teaching resources, adopt the methods of listening, doing, speaking, singing, playing and acting, encourage students to actively participate and express boldly, and strive to improve primary school students' feelings about the language and their initial ability to use English in listening, speaking, singing and acting.

Activities-Settings-Apply

English teaching in primary schools should avoid too many boring explanations and lectures. Take teachers as the leading factor, students as the main body, activities as the main line, create situations, highlight applications, adhere to the principle of task-based teaching, and guide students to learn languages in the process of "doing things", instead of learning languages from textbooks in isolation. Make learning active, positive and life-oriented, learn for use, not for learning, and combine learning with use; Close to life, close to students, fully mobilize the cooperation ability of students' ears, mouth, eyes, hands and brain in the "battle", on the basis of developing students' listening, speaking, singing and acting abilities, make them have preliminary reading and writing abilities, and cultivate students' comprehensive language application abilities such as language skills, language knowledge, emotional attitude, learning strategies and cultural awareness.

In classroom teaching, we should establish the consciousness of serving students, play a guiding role, fully mobilize students' initiative and enthusiasm, create a language situation with students as the main body, let students participate in it quickly, enlighten English thinking and communicate truly and naturally. According to students' age characteristics and teaching content, practice in groups of two, four, branches and boys and girls.
