Chaoshan area is subdivided into several humanistic areas, namely Haicheng Rao, Chaopu Hui and Intertidal Peak.
Haicheng Rao (also known as Chaocheng Rao, formerly known as Gang) refers to former Haiyang County, Chenghai County and Raoping County; All the three counties in Chaocheng Rao originated from Haiyang County, one of the three yangs in Chaozhou. Chaopuhui refers to the former Chaoyang County, Puning County and Huilai County, and Chaopuhui is the former Chaoyang County in Sanyang, Chaozhou.
Jiefeng (including Puning 20 years ago, called Jiepufeng; After 20 years of the Republic of China, it gradually evolved into a tidal peak (that is, the tidal peak of Chaoan County and the tidal confluence of Puning County), referring to Jieyang County and Fengshun County (now Fengshun County of Meizhou City); Fengshun County was originally Haiyang County and Jieyang County.
In Chaoshan cultural area, Haicheng Rao is the most prosperous place with the softest accent. Mainly literati, represented by Chao An, there are four cultural literati in modern times-Zong Rao, Chen Pingyuan, Zhang Jingsheng and Qin Mu. Chaozhou Pratt & Whitney education is relatively backward, with a thick accent, mainly producing businessmen and scientists, represented by Chaoyang. Jiefeng education is the second best, with an accent in between, and talents include scholars, universities and scientists.
Chaoshan clan architecture has distinctive features and high aesthetic value. It is a traditional residential building in eastern Guangdong and an important part of Chaoshan culture.
Chaoshan rural areas still retain the tradition of aristocratic families living together in Tang and Song Dynasties. Its houses are large in scale, with ancestral temples and temples as the center, forming a building group with closed exterior and open interior. A variety of architectural forms have been developed, such as "Shanglugen", "Hundred Phoenix Facing the Sun", "Four Golden Points", "Wudufang", "Hummer Trailer" and "Hundred Birds Facing the Phoenix".
Chaoshan dialect
Chaoshan people use Chaoshan dialect as their mother tongue, and Chaoshan dialect (pinyin: Ti? -Qiu Ao; English: Chaozhou dialect dialogue), the international code is sound-sensitive, which is an ancient language with a high penetration rate. CCTV's documentary on great country humanities said: "Chaoshan dialect is the remains of ancient Chinese in China and the oldest official language in China".
