Fu Yonglin pointed out that running the quadrennial city games well will not only help improve the level of competitive sports in all districts (cities) and counties, but also effectively promote the all-round development of sports in the city. It is the glorious mission and important duty of every sports worker to show the achievements of sports development in Chengdu to the outside world, and to promote the rapid economic and social development, the continuous improvement of cultural soft power and the continuous enhancement of comprehensive competitiveness in Chengdu. It is also an important role that Chengdu sports should play in urban development and construction.

Fu Yonglin emphasized that with the approval of the main leaders of the municipal party committee and municipal government, the organizing committee has been established, and the relevant departments directly under the municipal government and the district (city) and county governments should do a good job in organizing and preparing for the city games in accordance with the responsibilities of the organizing committee and member units. Dujiangyan Municipal Government, the host city of the National Games, should adhere to the principle of frugality and do its best to run the opening and closing ceremonies and major competitions of the National Games.

The meeting heard the reports of the Municipal Sports Bureau and Dujiangyan Municipal Government on the preparations for the 12th National Games, and considered the responsibilities of all departments of the Organizing Committee, the responsibilities of all member units and the preliminary plan for the opening ceremony. The meeting agreed in principle that the opening ceremony of the 12th National Games will be held on July 18 or June 19, 2065+02, and the leaders of the Organizing Committee will review the specific opening ceremony plan proposed by Dujiangyan Municipal Government in late March.

Yang Xiaoying, Deputy Secretary-General of the Organizing Committee and the Municipal Government, presided over the meeting.
