Fengpingshan Library mainly collects Chinese books. Feng Pingshan (1860 ~ 193 1), the founder of the University of Hong Kong, was a permanent administrator. During his tenure, he was deeply saddened to see that HKU emphasized English and ignored China culture. We are actively preparing for the Chinese School of the University of Hong Kong. After the establishment of the college, in order to meet the needs of teaching and scientific research of teachers and students, a Chinese library specially collecting Chinese books was donated and opened to the public. Fung ping shan died one year before the opening of 1932. To commemorate his contribution to the Chinese library, the library was named "Fengpingshan Library". There are ordinary reading rooms and newspaper reading rooms in the museum. 195 1 is managed by the librarian of the University of Hong Kong and becomes a part of the University of Hong Kong Library. 196 1 year, the new library of the university of hong kong was completed. 1962 fengpingshan library also moved into the new library, retaining the name of fengpingshan library. There are more than 400 kinds of rare books in the collection, some of which are rare books, banknotes and rare books at home and abroad. In addition, we also attach great importance to the collection of local documents in Hong Kong and Guangdong, such as historical, geographical, social and cultural materials of Hong Kong, publications of various societies, clansmen's associations and fellow villagers' associations in Hong Kong, materials, archives and genealogy of Guangdong Province, materials about Sun Yat-sen, writings of Cantonese people and publications of Guangdong government agencies.
