Mothers of children who go to school across the border have personally felt the differences in early childhood education between Shenzhen and Hong Kong.
I am the mother of a cross-border student. My youngest son was born in Hong Kong. He has been going back and forth to school in Shenzhen and Hong Kong since he was three years old. Now I am in Grade Three, in Class K3 in kindergarten. The school bus picks up every day. Although it is hard, the children are still happy to go to school. As a mother, I have experienced the early childhood education completed by my eldest son in Shenzhen. Compared with her younger brother's early childhood education in Hong Kong, I still feel that there are some differences in details between the two places.

First, educate children from an early age to observe the difference between time and school rules.

As we all know, children in kindergartens are generally children over 3-5 years old. Many parents generally believe that children of this age can go to school as long as they have fun in kindergarten, and they will unconsciously adopt a laissez-faire attitude in some wayward behaviors of their children. Some even parents or elderly people with children have developed their own waywardness. Take time to go to the garden in the morning, for example. Kindergartens in Shenzhen usually arrive at school from 8: 30 to 9:00 in the morning, but after 9: 00 or 10, you will still see your mother or grandmother taking their children to school and ask why you are going to kindergarten now. Some children wake up naturally every day, so that they won't cry when they wake up, just let him sleep enough; Some people think that the breakfast in kindergarten is not rich enough, and they are afraid of wronged children, so they eat at home and don't participate in morning exercises; I once met a little girl who went to kindergarten every afternoon. Because she stays up late every night until the next morning, her mother simply sends her to kindergarten every afternoon or not at all. Let's talk about another example of wearing a school uniform. Kindergartens generally have regulations on the days of wearing school uniforms, such as wearing formal clothes on Monday and sportswear from Tuesday to Friday. However, some parents will dress their children because of the ugly school uniforms and the cold weather. Kindergartens generally don't say anything, they can wear whatever they want.

All these behaviors make children unable to go or be late, so that children have no concept of observing time and no habit of going to school since childhood. These children will have a long adaptation process when they enter primary school. The act of not wearing school uniforms according to regulations also virtually misleads children not to abide by school rules. These are the details that parents should pay attention to.

At the same time, I personally think that kindergartens should reflect on how to change. Don't kindergartens have time requirements? Yes! Are there no rules and regulations for being late and leaving early? Yes! But is it in place? Don't! Afraid of offending parents, afraid of raising too many requirements and rules to scare children. Two words, "connivance", connivance of parents, connivance of children.

Kindergartens in Hong Kong have much stricter management over children's schooling. Almost all children enter the kindergarten before 9 o'clock every day. If you are late several times in a row, the academic affairs office will call your parents to ask. If you are temporarily absent from class due to illness, you need parents to ask the class teacher for leave, and you have to call the academic affairs office for leave registration. Those who take a long vacation due to illness must also provide a doctor's certificate. The class teacher will stamp "Leave" on the student handbook of the child who takes leave. At the end of a semester, how many times your child asks for leave, and which day of the week, can be seen at a glance in his student handbook. If a child often asks for leave or is absent for no reason during a semester, it is impossible for him to get an A on the final evaluation form, even if your child is very talented. As for school uniforms, they are even stricter. I once put on the wrong shoes for my child. I wore leather shoes and sneakers for the children that day. The children conveyed the teacher's reminder immediately after they came back. Because the school rules are strict and the teachers supervise and implement them strictly, the children enter the park in neat school uniforms every day, which is clean, tidy, unified and orderly. Children have also developed the good habit of observing time, respecting teachers and observing school rules in their usual requirements.

The difference between the two places is the difference in execution. Kindergartens in Shenzhen are too fond of children and parents, so they have requirements and have not been implemented, so they have not fully met the basic requirements of early childhood education. Kindergartens in Hong Kong have requirements for both children and parents. If these measures are put in place, children will do better in basic literacy.

Second, the differences in the evaluation system of early childhood education.

My boss went to two kindergartens around Shenzhen. Small classes are key kindergartens in the district, while middle classes and large classes are public.

Kindergartens are all good kindergartens. The spacious garden environment and large-scale amusement facilities are incomparable to most kindergartens in Hong Kong. But they don't have a systematic record evaluation system to give feedback to parents about what their children have learned in kindergarten. What are the outstanding aspects of sports and art that need to be strengthened? There are parents' meetings every semester, and you may hear some teachers' comments on children, such as being smart and eating slowly. In a word, I seem to have spent three years in kindergarten happily.

When the second child started school, I began to be surprised that the early childhood education in Hong Kong was so orderly and well documented.

1. Every child has a student handbook every semester, which records the basic information of students, the contact information of parents and the school calendar. When to have a holiday and what activities are there, it is clear at a glance. In the manual, the teacher will post the weekly lecture content and the attendance of students this week. Parents sign it every week.

2. Parents evaluate 2-3 times each semester, including language, music, physical fitness and so on, and each item is completely mastered, partially mastered and not mastered. Parents sign back after reading it.

3. At the end of each semester, there will be a parent-teacher meeting, and each parent will go to the school alone to meet the teacher according to the time agreed by the teacher and interview the child's performance this semester. Submit the child's unique file with the evaluation form mentioned above; Have the academic evaluation and signature of the class teacher, Chinese teacher and foreign language teacher; Participated in activities and related awards this semester; There are comprehensive evaluations A, B and C, signed by the principal, parents and teachers. After reading the file, parents still have to return it to the teacher for safekeeping. I'll save it for you next semester. This file records the children's data for three years and needs to be submitted to the receiving primary school for reference when entering primary school.

The difference between the two places is that there seems to be no complete writing system for the establishment and implementation of kindergartens in Shenzhen, and there is no record of the growth footprint of children's three-year life. Some pictures of some children in the park are shared with parents.

Third, the difference between common sense of social life and life education.

There is a fire drill in Shenzhen kindergarten. There are some in Hong Kong, but Hong Kong will also specially arrange a fire truck for educational demonstration to drive to the kindergarten gate, so that children can visit the car in batches and listen to the fire-fighting facilities and first-aid facilities introduced by the fire uncle. Of course, this is not a problem of early childhood education, but the support from government resources. Some organizations and social workers in Hong Kong will go to kindergartens to give free parent-child lectures and parent-child activities to educate their children on life and financial management. In kindergarten, teachers will take their children out of the campus, take the light rail car and use Octopus when they attend thematic classes such as traffic knowledge. Do you know what kind of octopus? Knowing that people like lanterns ... When learning about supermarkets, they will take their children to community supermarkets and markets to learn to buy things.

Kindergarten children in Shenzhen will not leave school except for parent-child tours. Safety first, schools are afraid of accidents, and parents are also afraid of accidents. Isn't Hong Kong worried about safety? Be anxious but do it, plan the time in advance, arrange the manpower, contact the place where you want to go, receive it, slowly and steadily, and there will be no accidents.

The difference between the two places is that we Shenzhen people always feel that children are still young and have not yet reached the stage of in-depth understanding and understanding of social life common sense and life propositions. Government resources are not matched, and there is no public welfare activity to connect with early childhood education. Social workers, public welfare organizations and government facilities in Hong Kong are relatively mature and effective.

Fourth, learn to be polite, respect others, and observe the educational differences of social public order and good customs.

Hong Kong is a society ruled by law and attaches great importance to social security. Take the bus, pay for things, eat, no matter how long the queue is, no one cuts in line, wait patiently. This has something to do with childhood education.

Respect everyone and say hello politely. One morning on the way to school, they greeted the bus driver, aunt, port police, cleaning aunt, school teacher, principal, neighbors' uncles and aunts, grandparents. Two children in my family, obviously the second one is more open and polite than the older one, so the older one is not used to greeting strangers. I haven't formed a habit since I was a child. Tell me more details. We all took part in the parent-child tour in kindergarten. When I take part in my eldest son's outing, the teacher usually doesn't introduce the tour guide or driver to the children on the tour bus, or say something of thanks. I take part in a two-child outing. As soon as the bus leaves, the teacher will first introduce the tour guide and driver to the children and parents, and lead everyone to say "thank you, brother guide, thank you, uncle driver" in unison. Children will say "good morning" to teachers, drivers, tour guides, uncles and aunts in unison. ...

In the details of life, it affects children to pay attention to everyone, respect others and be polite to others. Shenzhen kindergarten has undoubtedly not done enough in this detail.

My family has two children studying in Shenzhen and Hong Kong. This is my personal experience and personal view on Shenzhen-Hong Kong preschool education as a mother. I'm not criticizing anyone, I just want to learn from each other and think separately to make our early childhood education better!
