Excellence award is an award after the first prize, the second prize and the third prize in a competition or award. This is an encouragement to the contestants and an honor. The award-winning certificate can also be used as the basis for the newly promoted art specialty students to enter the examination. The competition is a national competition with a large number of participants and fierce competition. Winning the Excellence Award means that the contestants' works performed well in the competition and were recognized by the judges.

The contest was released by the General Office of the Ministry of Education, sponsored by China Children's Center and assisted by China Artists Association. Founded in 1995, it has been successfully held for 20 sessions. Students participating in the activity are all over 33 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the central government, and it is an important art competition with wide influence.
