Article 2 The purpose of China English Teaching and Research Association is to follow the guidance of Marxism–Leninism, Mao Zedong Thought and Deng Xiaoping Theory, abide by the Constitution, laws, regulations and national policies, unite English teachers in colleges and universities all over the country, carry out educational reform and applied linguistics research, improve the English teaching and research level in China, and carry out academic exchange activities at home and abroad, so as to make contributions to China's socialist modernization.
Article 3 The main tasks of China English Teaching Research Association are:
Organize and support members to engage in applied linguistics research, especially the theory and practice of English teaching, and carry out various related activities, such as holding annual meetings, academic seminars, special reports, symposiums and various seminars;
Promote the exchange of lectures and teaching staff at home and abroad;
(3) Promoting academic and information exchange between the Institute and foreign applied linguistics and English teaching and research institutions;
Collect, sort out and report to the relevant departments the problems existing in English teaching and research and suggestions for improvement;
(5) Publishing periodicals, series of books, essays, etc. ;
Use the Internet to establish websites, exchange academic achievements, and communicate teaching, scientific research and conference information;
Carry out academic exchange activities with other language teaching and research associations and related academic groups in domestic universities;
Cooperate with and assist relevant departments to strengthen teacher training.
Article 4 The members of China English Teaching Research Association are divided into unit members and individual members. Universities and research institutions related to English teaching and research in China submit their application for membership in the name of the unit, and after discussion and approval by the Standing Council, they can become unit members. Personnel engaged in English teaching and research in member units voluntarily abide by the articles of association and apply in the form of filling in the membership registration form. The director of their unit is responsible for sending the membership registration form to the secretariat of the Standing Council, and they can become members after being approved by the Standing Council of the Association for the record. China English Teaching and Research Association also accepts non-unit members, domestic and foreign personnel engaged in English teaching and research by filling in the membership registration form and submitting it to the secretariat of the Standing Council to apply for membership. After the individual application is approved by the Standing Council of the Association and filed, the applicant can become an individual member.
Members may withdraw from the meeting and report to the Standing Council for the record.
Article 5 Members of this Association shall enjoy the following rights and obligations:
Enjoy the right to vote and stand for election within the scope of this association;
Participate in relevant academic activities organized by the association;
3. Enjoy the materials presented by the Association, and give priority to subscribing to the publications and academic materials published by the Association;
4. Make criticisms and suggestions on the work of this Association;
5. Abide by the articles of association of the Association, implement the resolutions of the Association and complete the work entrusted by the Association;
6. Pay the membership fee. Membership dues are paid collectively by members of each unit, and individual members who are not members of this unit pay by themselves. The payment standard shall be decided by the Standing Council. Membership dues are collected and managed by the secretariat to supplement the needs of the seminar to carry out various activities. The Secretariat shall report to the Standing Council on the use of membership fees every year. (tentative: general governing unit 300 yuan/year; Executive Director 500 yuan/year; President/vice president unit 1000 yuan/year; Personal membership fee 100 yuan/year. )
Article 6 The Council is the leading body of the Association and consists of directors. All members who have made some achievements in English teaching and research are members of the board of directors, and the board members designate their own representatives to participate in the board of directors and notify the secretariat in writing. In principle, each unit has one director, and the Standing Council may decide to increase the number of directors due to work needs. The plenary meeting of the Council is generally held every three years (it can be advanced or postponed if necessary). When the Council is not in session, the Standing Council shall exercise its functions and powers. The Standing Council shall hold meetings from time to time to study and deal with relevant matters of the Association.
The Standing Council is elected by the plenary session of the Council, and the Standing Council consists of 30-40 executive directors. The Standing Council is responsible for electing a chairman and several vice-chairmen. The Standing Council shall set up a secretariat to handle daily affairs. The Secretary-General is the director, nominated by the President and appointed by the Standing Council.
The Standing Council is responsible for implementing the main tasks of the Association as stipulated in Article 3, drawing up work plans, presenting work reports to member congresses, discussing important meetings, proposing amendments to the articles of association of the Association, raising funds, determining the use of funds, and organizing the publication of publications. The Council may establish other necessary institutions according to the needs of its work.
Article 7 According to the needs of English teaching and research development in China, the Council may decide to set up several professional committees. A written application for the establishment of a professional committee shall be made collectively by relevant professional experts, and the application report shall be attached with the articles of association of the professional committee and approved by the Standing Council. Members of professional committees must be members of the association; Professional committees must obey the leadership of the Standing Council, and their leading bodies are democratically recommended by the Committee and reported to the Standing Council for approval and appointment; The annual work plan and academic seminar of the professional committee shall be reported to the Standing Council for the record.
Article 8 The daily academic activities of the China English Teaching and Research Association are mainly held in different regions, and are convened and organized by the vice presidents or executive directors of the relevant regions. Every three years, a large-scale international seminar on English teaching will be organized nationwide. During this period, the "China English Teaching Research Association Annual Meeting and English Teaching Symposium" will be hosted by various regions in turn every year. The organizer of the meeting decided through consultation. The information of daily academic activities is mainly exchanged through the website of our association.
Article 9 The funds of China English Teaching and Research Association come from the membership fees and donations paid by unit members and individual members.
Article 10 The China English Teaching Research Association is located in Beijing Foreign Studies University. The secretariat is located in Foreign Language Teaching and Research Press.
Article 11 The right to interpret the Articles of Association belongs to the Standing Council of the Association.
