The school's predecessor, Baofeng Academy, was founded in the seventh year of Yongzheng in Qing Dynasty, namely 1730. It is the highest institution of higher learning in the lower part of Jieyang County before liberation, and its reputation is growing day by day. Destroyed by Japanese artillery fire at 1939. At the beginning of the founding of New China, everything was for the development of education. In order to solve the enrollment problem of students in the three towns, the local party and government attached great importance to it, established a new school, appointed Liu to be in charge of the school establishment, and set up the school board of directors of the district (now Fort, Imperial City, and Imperial City). The members of the school board are: Liu, Xie Yiheng, Xie Zhenbang, Wang Lanruo, Wang, and others. The school board decided to inherit the heritage of Baofeng College, show the long history of the school, and move to the ancestral temple of Taoshan Township in Battery Town. Based on the purpose of people's cultural education at that time, new China should establish a new national, scientific and popular new culture and education. Therefore, the name of the school was drafted as Jieyang Xinhua Middle School, and it was renamed Jiedong Xinhua Middle School on 1992. The name of the school was inscribed by Wu Nansheng, former chairman of Guangdong Provincial Political Consultative Conference.
