In order to thoroughly implement the spirit of the 17th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, implement the Opinions of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the State Council on Further Strengthening and Improving Ideological and Political Education for College Students (Zhong Fa [2004]16), give full play to the role of ideological and political theory courses as the main channel of ideological and political education for college students, further promote the introduction of Socialism with Chinese characteristics Theory into textbooks, classrooms and students' ideological work, and continuously improve the ideological and political quality of college students, this paper puts forward some suggestions on further strengthening the construction of teachers of ideological and political theory courses in colleges and universities.

First, the importance, urgency and overall requirements of strengthening the construction of ideological and political theory teachers in colleges and universities

1. Ideological and political theory teachers are an important force of college teachers, disseminators of the party's theory, line, principles and policies, and guides for the healthy growth of college students. It is of great and far-reaching significance to further strengthen the construction of ideological and political theory teachers, improve the teaching level, arm college students with Socialism with Chinese characteristics theory system, lead various social trends of thought with socialist core value system, and cultivate them into socialist builders and successors with all-round development in morality, intelligence, physique and beauty. We will fully implement the strategy of rejuvenating the country through science and education and the strategy of strengthening the country through talents, ensure the grand goal of building a well-off society in an all-round way and accelerating socialist modernization, and ensure that the cause of Socialism with Chinese characteristics is prosperous and successful.

With the full implementation of the new scheme of ideological and political theory course and the breakthrough of teaching material construction, it is particularly urgent to strengthen the construction of teachers and improve their quality and level.

We should incorporate the construction of ideological and political theory teachers into the overall planning of education development and talent team construction, strengthen leadership and make overall arrangements. 4. Teachers of ideological and political theory courses should comprehensively improve their ideological and political quality and professional quality. Fifth, provide discipline support for the construction of ideological and political theory teachers in colleges and universities.

15. Strengthen the cultivation of scientific research ability. The course construction, textbook construction, teaching method reform, teacher team construction, discipline construction and research on important theoretical and practical issues in teaching of ideological and political theory courses are taken as important topics, included in the national educational science research and humanities and social science research plan, and a number of high-level ideological and political theory education and teaching research results are launched by independent project establishment, independent evaluation and independent investigation.
