Established in 2008, Peking University Transnational Law School (PKU-STL) is the first and only law school in Chinese mainland that combines the American law education model (J.D.) with the traditional China law master education model (J.M.) to train legal talents. The College is committed to training transnational legal talents with international vision and global competitiveness for China in the era of globalization.

Peking university school of transnational law was founded in July 2007. Committed to cultivating applied senior legal talents who can adapt to the needs of globalization and have the ability to engage in foreign-related economic and legal practice independently. Peking University Transnational Law School, formerly known as China-US Law and Policy Research Center in Peking University, aims to strengthen exchanges and knowledge sharing between China and the United States in the fields of law, policy, education and business.

Promote the harmonious development of the rule of law in the two countries. From June 5th to1October, 2008, in order to meet the growing demand for international legal talents under the background of globalization, Peking University Transnational Law School was established on the basis of the Center. The courses of international law schools also pay more and more attention to guiding legal practice.

For example, the newly established "Small Business Entrepreneurship Law Clinic" will lead students to provide consulting services for small and micro enterprises engaged in emerging industries, including business activities, intellectual property rights, and legal norms related to business and personal issues.

Another example is the "Public Interest Litigation Law Clinic" of Peking University Law School, which allows students to communicate with experienced American public interest litigation lawyers in real time and participate in major social issues and litigation cases in the United States through video.
