Russian in Wakim is the language used by Kurds, but not all Kurds use it. In Turkey, although there are more than 20 million Kurds, they have been suppressed by the government in history. It was not until the early 20th century that the Turkish government began to relax the restrictions on Kurds and allowed them to use their mother tongue in public. At present, Wakim is mainly used in some communities in southeastern Turkey, but it has not been widely promoted and applied.
In recent years, the Turkish government gradually relaxed the restrictions on mother tongue education, and some schools and institutions began to provide Russian education in Wakim. In addition, social media has brought new opportunities for communication and publicity, and more and more young people are beginning to learn this language. Nevertheless, the development of Russian in Wakim still faces many challenges, including government restrictions, insufficient educational resources, and the interruption of cultural heritage. However, as an important part of Kurdish culture, Russian in Wakim still deserves our attention and support.
