1April, 977, Pingguo County Committee and County Revolutionary Committee decided to establish Chengguan Senior Middle School. Supervised by the county education bureau, Huang Wei and other four comrades are responsible for the construction of school buildings. The school site is located in the south of the county (next to the old sugar factory), with a campus area of 30 mu. Comrade Li is the vice principal, responsible for the overall work of the school. In September of that year, two high school classes formally enrolled students. 1980, the county government established the jurisdiction of Matou Town, so Chengguan High School was renamed Matou High School.
1982, Matou Town No.1 Middle School and Matou No.2 Middle School merged into Matou Senior High School, and the school was renamed Matou Middle School in Pingguo County. Due to the small campus area, the development of the school is restricted. At the end of 1992, with the consent of Pingguo County Party Committee and County People's Government, the school moved to the north of the current county seat and was renamed Pingguo County No.2 Middle School. The new school site covers an area of 87 mu and the school building area is 23,000 square meters.
