2. Introduction of Changshu Institute of Technology
Changshu Institute of Technology is a provincial public full-time undergraduate college in Jiangsu Province. Founded in 1958 (Suzhou Normal University), it was upgraded with the approval of the Ministry of Education in 2004. The school is a pilot project of "National Education System Reform", a national "Thirteenth Five-Year Plan" application-oriented undergraduate development project, a pilot university of "Excellent Engineer Education and Training Plan" of the Ministry of Education, and the first provincial-level undergraduate university jointly established by Jiangsu Province. Up to now, it has trained 10 million talents for the country and society. The school is located in Changshu, Suzhou, which is a national historical and cultural city, an international garden city, rich in humanities and beautiful mountains and rivers, and has two campuses, East Lake and Southeast China.
In the course of running a school for more than half a century, Changshu Institute of Technology has been deeply infiltrated by Wu culture. After several generations of hard work, it has formed the school motto of "seeking truth from facts, making innovations", cultivated the campus spirit of "opposing mediocrity, pursuing Excellence, forging ahead with heavy burdens and daring to surpass", and established the development strategy of "building a school with quality, strengthening the school with talents, invigorating the school with culture and invigorating the school vividly". The school adheres to the idea of interactive development between schools and places, school-enterprise cooperation, takes local economic and social development as the center, focuses on cultivating high-quality applied talents, and constantly improves the level of scientific research and scientific and technological services, forming a school-running pattern with science and engineering as the mainstay and multidisciplinary coordinated development.
The school covers an area of 1800 mu with a building area of over 600,000 square meters. The total assets of teaching instruments and equipment are nearly 320 million yuan. The library has more than 6.5438+0.68 million paper documents, 365.438+0 databases and 365.438+0 TB digital information resources. The school has Soochow Journal (the core journal of humanities and social sciences in China, the source of CSSCI journal) and Journal of Changshu Institute of Technology (the outstanding journal of national universities).
The school now has 14 secondary colleges (departments) and 54 undergraduate majors, covering 7 disciplines, including engineering, science, literature, economics, management, education and art, and enrolling students from 2/kloc-0 provinces across the country. There are more than 20,000 full-time undergraduates, full-time postgraduates 100, and more than 4,700 adult education students in the College of Continuing Education.
