Wu Yulin's life.
Wu Yulin (1871-1944), a Hui nationality from Shexian County, Anhui Province. During the Tongzhi period of the Qing Dynasty, the Wu family fled to Cangzhou, Hebei Province, where Hui people lived in compact communities. 187 1 year (ten years of Tongzhi in Qing dynasty), Xiao Yulin was born on the way to escape. After the Wu family came to Cangzhou through hardships, they settled in Mengcun, Cangzhou. 1886, Yu Lin and his younger brother Maureen went to Tianjin to attend Beiyang Naval Academy. Yulin and Maureen brothers were admitted. After graduation, he was sent to Germany for further study. After returning to China, Wu Yulin served as the chief of the naval department at 19 15. He has many suggestions on naval organization and shipbuilding. Soon transferred to the director of Dagu Shipyard. During his tenure, he recruited talents and devoted himself to the research of shipbuilding technology and arms production, and once produced various firearms such as long and short guns. At that time, the "big bone stove" gun was famous throughout the country. 1922 served as the director of jinpu railway bureau. 1923, Wu Yulin became the chief traffic officer, and he was a representative of Baoding School directly under the CPC. During his tenure,1May, 923, a major carjacking case that shocked the world occurred in Lincheng. More than 40 foreigners were robbed in a serious situation. As the chief transportation officer, he is very anxious. He personally went to Zaozhuang with consuls from Yang Yide, Xiong Bingqi, Literati Zhen and other countries to negotiate with the bandit leader Sun Meiyao. Finally, an agreement was reached and all the robbed foreigners were released. In addition to apologizing to other governments, Beiyang government also paid hundreds of thousands of yuan to settle the matter. After the direct failure of 1924, Wu Yulin retired to Tianjin and lived in a mansion on Ermayina Road (now No.38 Zhu Min Road, Hebei District, Tianjin Administration for Industry and Commerce). This house was built in 1922. 1930, Wu Yulin sold the mansion he had lived in for nearly ten years to Tang Yulin, chairman of the Jehol provincial government. 193 1 rented a Donde-style building in Teyi District 12 Road (now No.292 Jiefang South Road, Hexi District, the former city procuratorate). This mansion belongs to Zhuang Lefeng, a famous industrialist. Built in 193 1, covering an area of 6.002 mu. Wu had close ties with Zhang Zizhong, Ma Zhanshan and other anti-Japanese generals, and Ma Zhanshan came to Tianjin to live in his home. He and former Premier Pan Fu jointly managed Tianjin salt affairs and had close contacts. He has a good relationship with the former navy minister and the younger brother of Emperor Guangxu, Zai Xun, and often walks around. Wu Yulin attaches great importance to children's education. He taught his children to have the ability to live independently and not to rely on the treasures left by their ancestors, which are unreliable. Mr. Zheng Juru, a famous educator, was hired to teach Chinese for his children, and Ms. Zhang Ruizhen (with Song Meiling), who had studied in the United States, was hired to teach English. Wu Yulin also did some good things for the people in Tianjin and his hometown before his death. 1939 There was a flood in Tianjin. With his reputation, he actively contacted various forces and sent five ships to patrol the districts and cross the crowd every day. Put five buckets full of gruel in your window every day, and each victim needs relief, one spoon each, to solve the urgent need. There was a flood in his hometown, Mengcun, Cangzhou. In addition to running a porridge factory to help the victims, he also set up a small textile factory and a literacy school in the village to help the villagers save themselves. During the Japanese puppet regime, Okamura Ningji, a Japanese general stationed in North China, and Wang Kemin, a traitor, visited Wu Yulin at home and "urged" him to "leave the mountain" to safeguard the political situation in North China. He excused himself by saying that he would get sick when he was old and suffered from dental diseases. 1944 autumn, Wu Yulin's family was in a hurry. In the case of internal troubles and foreign invasion, his condition became more and more serious, and finally he passed away sadly at the age of 73. 1965438+On February 23rd, 2008, it was awarded to the Navy Engine Major General Company. 192 1 year, Wu Yulin concurrently served as the president of the capital preservation society and the supervisor of the renovation of Jingzhao River. In the same year, on 1 1.2, he was awarded the rank of lieutenant general of naval engine.

1886 Xiao Yulin 15 years old, I happened to see the admission notice of Tianjin Beiyang Naval Academy in Dagu. If he is admitted, he will not only have to pay tuition, but also pay two pieces of silver as a subsidy every month. This is really a rare opportunity for children from poor families. Therefore, Yu Lin and his younger brother Maureen went to Tianjin and attended Beiyang Naval Academy. At that time, the idea that "my hero is not a soldier" was very common, and I thought it was a mistake to go to these foreign schools, so not many people took the exam, and Yulin and Maureen brothers were admitted.

In Beiyang Naval Academy, although Wu Yulin has a poor cultural foundation and weak body, he is determined and hardworking. He gets excellent grades every time and is constantly being promoted. After graduation, he was selected to go to Germany for further study. In order to conquer German when he was studying at Waldie Shipyard in Germany, he approached Germans actively every day to improve his listening and speaking. He also plastered his dormitory with new words and everyday expressions, and studied German books and periodicals. By the time he returned to China, he was proficient in and fluent in German, and became a technical talent with professional knowledge in shipbuilding and machinery.

Once, he went to Jinan on business and returned to Tianjin. He deliberately put on casual clothes and squeezed into the unmarked third-class hard-seat carriage, while observing the order of the station and the service of the railway staff. While chatting with people in the same car, I learned about the situation and commented on the style and ethics of the staff on the car.
