As follows:

The eight virtues respected by China traditional culture are filial piety, filial piety, loyalty, faithfulness, propriety, righteousness, honesty and shame.

At the end of the Qing Dynasty and the beginning of the Republic of China, faced with the impact of western strong culture on China's weak culture, Kang Youwei, Liang Qichao and Sun Yat-sen all thought that morality was China's strength. As long as innovation was introduced, China's new morality could be constructed.

Liang Qichao and other reformists tried to absorb the essence of modern western morality and build China's new morality based on the four virtues of "filial piety, loyalty and faithfulness". Sun Yat-sen and Cai Yuanpei put forward the new "eight virtues" of "loyalty, filial piety, benevolence, love, faithfulness, righteousness, harmony and peace", which is a masterpiece of "Chinese style and western use" and a fusion of Chinese and western moral essence.

These eight virtues have adjusted the positions of filial piety and loyalty, and family and country, indicating that the concept of nation-state is superior to that of family, which not only inherits the ancient concept of filial piety and loyalty, but also adapts to the modern value of "national supremacy".

Before Song Dynasty, China didn't have the consciousness of "subjugating the country", and he could "make the country peaceful" by "strengthening the family", so he had the "family-oriented" ethics.

Since modern times, western powers have tried to annex "countries" one by one and become the people of colonial countries. In the blood and tears, they realized the truth that "the country broke the family and died." As a result, the "national concept" and "patriotic consciousness" of people of all countries have been continuously strengthened. Based on China, facing the world and conforming to the historical trend, Sun Yat-sen put "loyalty", that is, loyalty to the motherland and the people, in the first place, and constructed a "country-oriented" Chinese ethics, which represented the fundamental interests of the people of China.

The meaning of the new eight virtues:

Loyalty means loyalty to the cause, duty, nation and country.

Filial piety is to honor parents and the elderly.

Benevolence is generous, caring, generous, good at treating others, not petty, not jealous of virtuous people.

Love is to love a person's brother and obey him. In business, respect the leadership, obey the organization and strictly observe discipline.

Faith is one of the important conditions for Confucianism to realize the moral principle of benevolence, and it is also one of the contents of Confucian moral cultivation.

Righteousness is a moral category with a wide meaning in ancient China, which means that what should be done is just and reasonable.

Harmony means harmony and coordination. As the old saying goes, "Everything is in harmony".

Peace is peace, peace.
