I am in charge of teaching freshmen majoring in English. Compared with college English students, my task may be more arduous, but I am confident to teach this lesson well. So, from May 8th, I began my busy internship life.
On the first day after I came back from the May Day holiday, I went to her class under the guidance of the counselor. Being a teacher for the first time is not fun. This time, the teacher talked about practice. I think it is very necessary to know how the teacher attends the practice class. Sit in the last row of the class and listen to the teacher carefully. Master the teacher's class steps and English wording in class, and record the teacher's lecture contents and steps in time. In the course of listening to the class, I found that the students' learning initiative is still not enough, and few students can actively answer the questions raised by the teacher. Usually, as a student, I didn't notice this problem when listening to the teacher in class, but I felt particularly profound after attending this class. It seems that we should actively cooperate with the teacher in class and communicate with the teacher more actively. In view of this problem, I am also thinking about how to arouse the enthusiasm of students in class.
In the next few days, I listened to the teacher as usual. The teacher talked about topic discussion and text analysis respectively.
For the topic discussion part, I think it is still very interesting. The students came prepared and explained themselves. Listening to students' various opinions, I also learned a lot. At the same time, it also helps other students learn and enlivens the classroom atmosphere. When analyzing the text, I pay attention to the language points spoken by the teacher, the analysis of difficult sentences and the division of the article structure.
In the process of listening to the class, I basically mastered the essentials of the teacher's class: for a new text, first of all, it takes a class time for students to express their views on the topic before class, and the teacher can interact with the students in the process of communication and exercise their oral ability. Secondly, after the oral class, the teacher analyzes the text, which takes about two classes to strengthen students' initiative. Two: try to talk.
It's a critical moment after the lecture, and I'm going to start teaching students. The tutor will arrange the content of the class for us before class. Let's try to say it first. So, I began to write lesson plans and prepare lessons seriously. I divide the structure of the article according to the teacher's teaching method and reference books, analyze the key words and syntax in the article, and prepare questions for students to answer. During the trial, I explained according to these contents. The teacher pointed out my shortcomings and asked me to strengthen the coherence of the explanation process and enrich the classroom content. I went back and made a lot of changes, adding extra-curricular knowledge to the slides, proposing topics for students to play freely, so as to enliven the classroom atmosphere, and introducing the general idea of the natural paragraph to help students grasp the overall essentials.
Three: class
As the class time approaches, I feel particularly nervous. After all, this is my first time to teach students, and my next performance will directly affect their academic performance. Thinking about class every day, afraid of making a fool of yourself, cold, being at a loss and not knowing English?
Finally, it's time for class, and I rank second in my class. Listening to the first classmate who speaks fluent English and actively interacts with his classmates, my pressure is even greater. But when it was really my turn to go on stage, I suddenly felt that I was not as nervous as I thought. Besides being scared at first, my speech became more and more interesting. In class, I speak according to the procedures in the lesson preparation book, emphasize key words and sentences for students, and intersperse some questions. In order to enliven the atmosphere, I had to choose the strategy of roll call, and the students were very cooperative. Whether they know it or not, they have expressed their views. Finally, I put forward a topic for the students to discuss. My classmates actively participated in it and gave their unique opinions. I am very pleased to see their positive answers. At that time, I finally understood that the greatest pleasure of being a teacher is to see that my students are active in class, motivated to learn and actively communicate with teachers.
Four: feelings
In class, I think my biggest deficiency is that my English expression is not very coherent. Maybe it's because it's my first time to teach in English. I still need to practice my teacher's oral English more and master various expressions. Secondly, the class is too serious and there is little communication with students. This still depends on extracurricular materials to activate students' interest. In addition, it is a question of consistency. The tutor said that I stopped too much in class, which would lead to students' distraction. This is mainly because I am not familiar with the steps of class, have little communication with students, and lack other words to fill the gap between knowledge points and knowledge points. It seems that in the future, we should practice by ourselves before class to make the articles coherent.
Generally speaking, I am satisfied with my internship performance. After all, this is my first experience. But I want to accumulate experience in this internship, learn lessons, learn from each other's strengths, and strive to perform better in future teaching activities. I think that the teaching that can really win the joy of students and be recognized by other teachers must be obtained through continuous practice.
