Monk Akamatsu (1634- 1706), whose legal name is Daoling, alias Ganling, whose real name is Han, was born in Qingtengba, Tashan, Tongchuan, Sichuan on April 24th, the seventh year of Chongzhen in Ming Dynasty (1634), ranking fifth. Father and mother Xie are famous local families. When I was six years old, my father met me and was raised and educated by my brother. At an early age, I felt that life and death were impermanent and sighed. Seeing that his family was in decline and brilliant, my uncle joined Tongchuan City to study Confucianism. Less than a year later, at the end of the Ming Dynasty, the Du family was adopted as a son. Soon after, he took refuge in Guizhou and his family discussed his marriage. He hopes to take the road of Confucian imperial examination. Akamatsu will stick to it and turn to Buddhism for eternal life, vowing to practice and explore life. Tired of household customs, he accompanied his neighbor Yuan Shizi to Nanwangshan in Xifeng, where he worked as a Buddhist monastery, studied Buddhism and practiced Buddhist asceticism. For nearly a hundred days, Yuan Shizi could not bear the hardships and ran back privately. Red pine, on the other hand, went deep into the mountains and continued to practice tirelessly. Although skinny and inhuman, he still doesn't change his original intention. After so many years of hard work, I followed Yuan Shizi to find his father and brother and found that he was forced to return to China. Akamatsu has been a vegetarian since he returned to China. Regardless of his family, he decided to marry him first and resolutely retired. Seeing this, his family let him become a monk. From then on, Akamatsu became a famous teacher and began his long career of studying Buddhism. At the beginning, Akamatsu had already infiltrated the heretics, and immediately realized that it was not the Dharma, so he gave up. People who really practice, whether good or bad, are all helping the Tao. Although Akamatsu went astray, in order to get on the right path, he strengthened his determination to seek truth, goodness and beauty and knowledge. Sure enough, before long, he was happy for his good luck. In the tenth year of Shunzhi (1653), Song Chi heard that Hui Zong, the elixir of life, went to Guizhou from Tiantongshan, Zhejiang Province to teach, but went to visit Wang Yao Temple in Guiyang. Elixir (1604- 1670) is a disciple of master Miyun, who has lived in a secluded place in Yunnan and Guizhou for a long time (1). He has a lot of dharma seats and a long resume. He has been talking about attracting others all his life, but he thinks there is no way at all. Ding Yuan, a monk, recorded three stories about his visit to Master Miyun in Notes on Interpretation of Scriptures in Yunnan and the reasons before and after his enlightenment: "I heard that Miyun opened golden millet, and the teacher (elixir) lived in ginseng, giving it the language of' integration of all laws', and ginseng believed it. A few days later, Mimi moved Tiantong and ordered his master to make a garden head by the Xiaobei River, but he forgot to study the meal and suddenly decided to take a hoe with him one day. Looking for it with Liao, he asked,' Do you work here?' The teacher raised his hoe and hit the cloud:' Not your realm.' In other words, the cloud says,' Mother was born with her true face and won't hide anywhere. She will fill the empty world and make her own opinions with fate. Then it was a secret, and he said in secret,' What do you stand for?' The teacher drank it, held it tightly and said,' Look!' Shi Yun: "There is no patience under the stick, so do your duty." Even if you kiss, the teacher will quit even if he drinks alcohol, so there is a province. "Enough to prove that he is in Miyun, and his time is quite effective. As for the name of Fahao elixir, it's because he used to be in charge of medication, and all the people treated with it were cured. Seeing Akamatsu eager to seek Tao, he said to him, "You are still young. What do you want to show?"? Since you are out of the way, tell what you have done before and be kind. " Akamatsu said, "What do monks say about practicing at a young age? It's really a matter of life and death for my disciples. I have been fasting for many years. If I don't enlighten them, why can I practice? " The elixir stretched out a foot and asked, "Will it?" Akamatsu replied, "No." The elixir smiled and said, "The old monk knows nothing. Please come and show me! " Akamatsu knelt down and asked, "Is the disciple really alive or dead? I didn't know the fruit when I first joined. " Seeing his sincere wish, the spiritual medicine Zen master agreed to his plea, saying, "For life and death, let go of fate, participate in the unification of all laws, and don't have second thoughts. Go to the place where the water is clear and the moon is bright, and see where it goes. So the elixir shaved his head and named it Daoling.

"Sleepwalking Collection", a master of Hanshan in the Ming Dynasty, said: "Since the ancients became monks, it is a matter of life and death, that is, the birth of Buddha, just to show this. There is no dharma except life and death, and there is no life and death except dharma. The so-called mystery is the beginning of life and death, enlightenment and reincarnation. ..... So Damocles came, not writing, but realizing his own mind. Taking this heart as everything is also the foundation of the ten saints realm. If you fully realize this mind, it is the most holy Mahayana. If you don't realize it, it is the second multiplication. If you don't realize it, you are an ordinary person. " From the very beginning, monk Akamatsu took the breakthrough of the opposition between life and death as the starting point of his life's secret exploration, in order to have an ultimate and complete liberation, so as to truly enter the realm of Mahayana Bodhisattva's victory over righteousness. A Zen master who is observant like an immortal can naturally see at a glance that he is a great talent like a dragon, so his intentional inquiry and opportunity have secretly predicted the inevitability and necessity of enlightenment in the future of Akamatsu. Taking "the unification of all laws" as the research topic is the strength of his own wonderful understanding. When it is applied to Pinus densiflora, it needs him to explore with a group of doubts, and finally awaken Xuan Gankun's great consciousness from the depths of life, so as to thoroughly understand the authenticity of the life universe and all things in the world. After Akamatsu was instructed by his teacher, a new certificate of practice began to appear in his life. From then on, he took charge of himself with the instrument, worked bravely, struggled for the road of enlightenment, proved the wisdom of life and death, and opened the road to complete enlightenment. There will never be any rest in life until the water is clear and the moon is bright. ? A few days later, there was a tour group in central Yunnan. Before this trip, I instructed Chi to learn from western monks. Western learning is a disciple of the elixir, practicing dharma in Guiyang Baiyun Temple (2). The Korean pine in western learning, walking, sitting and lying, is silent and busy, while the constant Sophora flavescens stops at the "integration of various methods", such as sitting on Mount Sumi, which is steady and dense, but also like the pressure of a thousand pounds, releasing innocence. In order to further clarify the doubts and thoroughly prove his state before birth, he went to Wuhua Mountain in Yunnan, and then studied the elixir, became a monk and studied the purpose of "the integration of all laws". In this way, after studying for three years and sitting all night, the elixir asked him, "You have been a three-year-old monk, and all you have done is unify all the methods." What is the realm? " The panacea is repeatedly asked, and even the red pine can't answer. The next morning, the elixir warned, "If you didn't work hard, you would have given up. If you lost your mind, wouldn't it be a pity for your youth?" Since then, Akamatsu has restricted his schedule and vowed to stay up late, fearlessly investigate and enlighten. After half a year's hard work and diligence, Akamatsu began to feel that his time was condensed into one piece and he could not get rid of it. He always stopped talking about "what is the realm of one of all laws", but quietly collected everything in the world. One day on New Year's Eve, Pinus densiflora was sitting with Sophora flavescens in a crisis. After he settled in, he suddenly felt a Zhen Feng, vivid, empty, inaccessible, comfortable and happy. Suddenly, firecrackers sounded suddenly, snuff flashed, and Pinus densiflora suddenly woke up and realized the present. It turns out that life is self-explanatory, the sky is high and the sea is wide, the water is clear and the moon is bright, so where is kudzu vine, and what is left? The place where "all dharmas are integrated" is the muddy realm of "white clouds disappear and the bright moon is full", that is, the wonderful season when distracting thoughts (white clouds) disappear and Buddha nature (bright moon) presents. The next day, this understanding was recognized by the immortal monk. Since then, the red pine statue has unloaded a heavy burden, and its body and mind are fast and smooth, and there is no complacency in doing things; Life and death, life and death, super life and super life, no stagnation; And I have read all the classics, and I know it very well. I tasted a poem and said: "Bodhisattva was a saint and has always been everywhere, without distinction;" Non-pen, non-paper and non-human paintings also produce golden lotus from fire. "

Akamatsu has thoroughly realized his mind and made it clear that "all laws are one", but he still encourages himself that "it is easier to realize Tao than to keep it, and it is easier to keep it". He knows that Buddhism and Taoism have far-reaching influence and are full of wonderful meanings. Although he knows where it is, he can't be self-sufficient If he really wants to complete the original fruit of his inner life, he should attach equal importance to post-certification practice and heartfelt practice. So he climbed mountains and waded, continued to visit places of interest, and extensively participated in good knowledge. Taste Yanju Zen master Yu Pingyue (now Fuquan, Guizhou). Yan Ju is a monk who teaches in Guizhou and a disciple of Broken Mountain. Everyone advised Akamatsu to learn Yan Opera, and Akamatsu bid farewell to "having a teacher". Since then, kudzu vine of red pine has been cut off, eating grass and plants, having fun in hardships, learning from western monks and building Baiyun Dojo. They work with the public sooner or later. Although they are dusty and tired, they are also very quiet. It can be said that they work day after day and practice day after day, realizing their sexuality and practice. The two are in harmony. Monks who know the West think they are brave in protecting the law, so they are called Buddha Yan Hui. One day, I read the Huayan Sutra with my teacher. When I read the Tathagata, I said to the emperors: "The emperors often hear the sound of the heavenly drum, not from the east, nor from the four dimensions of the south, northwest and north. The heavenly drum never dies, just like I said." At this time, Akamatsu suddenly felt that his whole body was suddenly put down, and things and I were one, and he realized his past gains. Thinking hard is a monk, and common sense is not a lofty place, pretending to say, "To be a hazy and stupid person, you can't make a sand pile when you are panning for gold;" Think about the dusty sun, gentle and light waiting time. The distance can be as short as 1000 places, and the circle of the road will never change; Needless to say, it's unreasonable, but it's still in the cold furnace. "Akamatsu got this enlightenment and went back to Wuxi to visit Yunnan, hoping to save the elixir and ask the monk to meditate. On the way, I visited the Zen master Lingyin in the fundraising department (now Guanling and Chaiyun), and Lingyin also came out at the foot of the broken mountain gate. The two of them had a very interesting question and answer. After more than a month's stay, Akamatsu wrote a poem, "Poem on the Stone Chamber of Ziyun in Shuangshishan": "The lion king lives alone in Ziyun Gorge, and all animals are afraid of his minions; This cave is deep and powerful, and the roar is shocking. " (3) Lingyin promised it with "this old work is also". Akamatsu bid farewell to Lingyin and went to Tianling Mountain in Yunnan to rejoin the ranks of elixir monks. He has learned something repeatedly, and his living atmosphere is even more extraordinary. A year later, he returned to Guizhou from Yunnan and got an anklet in Lingyin. This year, Akamatsu was about thirty years old. Chi Songfu returned to Baiyun Mountain for several years after receiving the precepts of Lingyin monk, rebuilt Baiyun Temple with Xi Shi monk, and went to Zunyi to visit Shu Min monk after work. Shu Min, a native of Akamatsu, was also impressed by Master Shan, so he kept it. The next day, Akamatsu made a eulogy for the invention, trying to inherit Shu Min's proof in person, and realized it for several months under Shumin's door, thus achieving the purpose of the method. When he left, Shu Min warned, "When the old monk sees that you have great tools, you should hide them and don't make a move. If you know this well, you will be promoted by Tianlong, and so will Mo Qiang. "Shu Min also paid the Buddha for divination, and Akamatsu got this record, so he became an authentic descendant of the thirty-third generation of Lin Ji Zen.

Akamatsu was instructed by Min Shu to return to Baiyun Temple for practice. He confuses vulgarity with light, and hides it deeply. In the sixth year of Kangxi (1667), he suddenly received a letter from Zhu Xi, a monk, saying that Zhang Guanghuan in Beijing had a high reputation for Korean pine and asked him to live in Shoushi Temple in Wang Yao Temple in Guiyang. When Akamatsu was thirty-four, he went to Jiao Hong to talk about Zen. The governor of Guizhou listened to the law when he was sitting in a chair, and he became famous for a while. In the eighth year of Kangxi, Akamatsu retreated to Shoushi Temple. For three years, he kept a low profile and achieved Bodhi. After the expiration of 1000 days, Governor Cao led more than 1000 civil and military butchers to set up cassock quilts to welcome them through the customs. Tan Yue Buddhism obtained by Akamatsu is a system of preaching precepts; After the expiration of the system, I vowed to indulge in mountains and rivers and start a new stove in the tin mine resort. Although the ape is angry with the tiger and leopard, he dares to leave.

In the spring of the 11th year of Kangxi (1672), Akamatsu accidentally pushed his staff to Daluomu Mountain, where he saw layers of caves, secluded places, green mountains on all sides, and a plain in the middle, which was unique and elegant. He was very interested in the mysterious images and was a place to choose Buddhism. Master Luo Miaode was also happy to give up, killing officials in Guizhou Province, large and small, and generously donating money. Akamatsu went into the city to enter the mountains, cut the soil instead, plant trees to clear the way, build temples and buildings, and set up fields to divert water. Brave and arduous efforts have finally turned the former Tiger and Leopard House and Fox House into a Buddhist selection field in Guizhou, a clean and solemn field. The scale of the giant temple was initially prepared, and it was called Hongfu Temple in Qianling Mountain. The word "Hongfu" means "Hongfu's great wish, saving people and benefiting all beings, starting from the end". The establishment of Ganling Mountain Temple began here. Since then, after 30 years of operation, Qianling Mountain has become the first district in Guizhou. At that time, people thought that "Tiantong, Caoxi, Lubu and Shaosong reflected from afar, and they were immortals; Then he continued the chicken feet, Emei, and chased to the Western Regions, which is also the heir of the red pine. There are also two poems on the red pine wall, describing the beautiful scenery of Ganling: "The green hills are faint with white clouds, and there are idle flowers and wild colors. There are some thatched cottages hidden in the stream, and there are books in the shade. " "Cui Zhang Qingxi crossed the white cow, and the water plants forgot their worries. There is no stress in blowing the iron flute horizontally, and the water moon is scattered. " Most of the ruins of Hongsong Temple were still there, and now it has become a famous scenic spot for later generations to watch.

When Song Chi first discovered Qianling Mountain, he took great pains to open the court. The Zen method of Akamatsu is also a combination of agriculture and Zen. It is a great heritage to eat and wear, transport water and firewood, and justify itself without any obstacles. Mysterious solo, sacred sweeping, wonderful harmony, reaching the source of the cave, the front of the machine and the huge drink, followed by vertical and horizontal, gains and losses, greatly boosting the wind of Lin Ji school. What is particularly prominent is that although his Zen method is true in language and writing, it does not waste language and writing, that is, noumenon is kung fu, that is, metaphysics is metaphysics, epiphany and gradual cultivation are given consideration, and life and death are integrated with nirvana. It can be said that when a master teaches people, he must follow the rules, but he can also not follow the rules. He gains more than just drinking. Therefore, his disciples called him: "One thing does not follow the ancestral style and is inexhaustible; Rough fists and hot palms are divided, and the leaves are red everywhere "(5). Because of the simplicity of red pine and the profound Zen, all kinds of statements are handy, and they are all Buddhist realms, without any whitewashing. Therefore, the listener has his roots and gains, so he enters the right knowledge. For example, in Fiona Fang, the water in the jar is cool, while the rain in spring is high and low. "(6). Since Akamatsu established religion in Ganling, people all over the country have heard about it, and it shook Yunnan and Guizhou for a while, affecting the whole southwest.

In the 22nd year of Kangxi (1683), Cai Yurong, governor of Yunnan, and Wang Jiru, governor of Yunnan, rebuilt the Wuhua Temple in Kunming, and ordered Yan Song to suspend the forehead in Yunnan. Akamatsu went to Yunnan to preach Buddhism, and personally went to Jiu Feng to worship and sweep the immortal master tower. During his stay in Yunnan, he was guided by fate. He declared that he was on the right path to help the local Zen Buddhism and made great contributions to the revival of the local Zen Buddhism. In the thirty years of Kangxi, I forgot myself for the law, not far from Wan Li, from Bashu to Jingchu to Jiangsu and Zhejiang, paying tribute to Putuo and Taibai, and visiting Miyun Master Tower. He returned to Zhanggong from Jinling, followed Peng Li, followed Ayue, returned to Yuanjiang in Guizhou, and returned to Guiyang in the west, and retrieved all the Buddhist scriptures and stored them in the newly-built Tibetan Scripture Building of Hongfu Temple. Since then, red pine has continued to accept disciples and cultivated a large number of sangha. At the request of the crane in prison, he wrote a self-praise poem to sum up his life: "Weak crown and poor life far away, no way back." Meat is a personal kindness, and it teaches the heart directly. Falou is the pride of the first wife, and will always be like the ancestors. Who is the positive pulse circulation, there are thousands of cranes. "

In the 45th year of Kangxi (1706), on July 17th, Akamatsu died in Hongfu Temple, at the age of 70 and 54. The golden bone is hidden in the Pilu Peak Tower behind the temple. After eight years of silence by Master Akamatsu, the layman Cai Zuo Wei wrote an inscription on the stupa:

Zhuozhuo Korean pine, broken mountain.

Steep and clear, pinch your eyes, and solve the problem.

The surface has its eyes, and the air has its flowers.

Your feet are vain and your eyes are full of sand?

The mountains are thunderous and the Buddha is rugged.

Change the wire and watch, and the road will open.

Bamboo trees are sparse, but mountains and rivers do not change.

Never until now, it is everywhere.
