Yueyang, known as "Baling" in ancient times, also known as "Yuezhou", is a prefecture-level city in Hunan Province, a sub-central city in the province, the second largest economy, the first batch of open cities along the Yangtze River in the State Council, an important regional central city in the middle reaches of the Yangtze River, a big city in Hunan Province and a free trade zone in Hunan.
