Professor Pan Maoyuan used to be the vice president and consultant of Xiamen University, the first dean of Xiamen University's School of Overseas Education, and the convener of the Education Discipline Evaluation Group of the State Council Academic Degrees Committee. He is currently honorary director of the Institute of Higher Education Science of Xiamen University, consultant of the academic journal Overseas Chinese Education, vice president of China Higher Education Society and chairman of the National Higher Education Research Association; He has served as a part-time or honorary researcher and professor in more than 30 research institutions and universities, including the Education Development Research Center of the Ministry of Education, Tianjin Academy of Educational Sciences, Nanjing University, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, South China Normal University, Central South University, Huazhong Normal University, Guangxi University and Shenzhen University.
