Hunan University of Science and Technology is located in Xiangtan City. It was jointly established by the Hunan Provincial People's Government, the National Bureau of Science, Technology and Industry for National Defense and the former state administration of work safety, and supported by the National "Basic Capacity Building Project for Colleges and Universities in the Midwest". It was selected as "National First-class University" and "Hunan 20 1 1 Plan" in Hunan Province, "Excellent University" in undergraduate teaching evaluation by the Ministry of Education, and "Excellent Engineer Education and Training Plan" by the Ministry of Education. The first batch of national innovative and entrepreneurial models have recommended excellent undergraduate courses.
