Qian Menglong's life course
The time goes back to the 1940s. Qian Menglong is a famous "poor student" from elementary school to grade two. He recalled: "I was surprisingly stupid when I was a child, and now I still blush when I think about it ... I can't remember how many' red lights' were hung on my report card. From elementary school to the second grade of junior high school, I actually set a' brilliant record' for repeating the grade four times! "

This student, who was evaluated by teachers as "smart face and stupid belly", miraculously turned around in his academic performance after the second day of junior high school.

A Putonghua teacher named Wu Zhongying changed Qian Menglong's life course with a dictionary.

One day after school, Mr. Wu called him to the office, picked up a small dictionary of Wang and said to him, "The teacher says you are stupid. If you can learn to check, you can prove that you are not stupid. " Teacher Wu gave him a task: before teaching a new lesson, look up the sounds and meanings of new words in the text from the dictionary and copy them on the blackboard for students to learn.

As soon as this encouragement was copied, the comment on his report card became "the student was brilliant" when he graduated.

1952 by chance, Qian Menglong, who just graduated from junior high school, mistakenly became a middle school Chinese teacher.

From the beginning, he didn't want to be a teacher for a living. In his heart, there is a ruler-to be a good teacher who loves students like Mr. Wu. This shot always measures his gap, which became the motivation for Qian Menglong, who knew nothing about Chinese teaching at that time and had far from enough knowledge reserves, to become a good teacher.

He designed a set of teaching methods suitable for his actual level and with his own personality: encouraging students to study by themselves. "At that time, I thought it was very simple. Since Mr. Wu taught me to look up the dictionary, it means that self-study has helped me learn Chinese well and will definitely help my students learn Chinese well. " Therefore, "how to teach students to read" has become a persistent "working direction" in Chinese teaching in Qian Menglong.

Front-line Chinese teachers generally agree that Chinese is difficult to teach. After teaching for decades, Qian Menglong listed three reasons why it is difficult to teach: First, it is the most vulnerable to criticism; Second, the exam is particularly complicated, tricky and all-encompassing "knowledge system" makes teachers and students feel afraid; Third, the teaching goal is the most difficult to grasp. In this regard, he issued such a vicissitudes of life sigh: teaching Chinese is "dancing in chains."

However, he did not stay in lamentation, but actively sought a breakthrough and shouted the loud slogan of "dancing well in chains".

This jump is more than 50 years. As early as 1986, Professor Tan of East China Normal University commented that the special-grade teachers in Shanghai are Chinese teachers who are "not satisfied with the status quo". He is determined to be an "expert in Chinese teaching" rather than a "qualified Chinese teacher".

Qian Menglong was ambitious from the beginning of teaching, and in the process of integrating theory with practice, he seriously studied, practiced and explored the special laws of Chinese teaching.

From 65438 to 0956, Qian Menglong, who had only four years' teaching experience and junior high school education, became a high school Chinese teacher, and wrote his first teaching paper "Chinese teaching must break away from convention". In the same year, at the age of 27, he was named the first outstanding teacher in Jiading County.

In the late 1970s, Qian Menglong put forward the "Basic Teaching Method". The so-called "basic style" refers to: self-study, teaching reading and homework.

But at that time, Qian Menglong also felt that his grasp of the law in the teaching process had not touched the deep level of teaching.

"A class changed to write the history of my second half of life." After 26 years, Qian Lao still remembers it.

1979, education bureau of shanghai held the on-the-spot meeting of the principals of Shanghai key middle schools in Jiading No.2 Middle School where he worked at that time, and Professor Qian Menglong wrote the classical Chinese "Yu Gong Yi Shan". He took this course according to his "basic teaching method"

"There were many people coming to class that day, and a big classroom was packed." This class made principals of key middle schools and leaders of municipal and district education bureaus feel refreshed and received rave reviews.

1979 In the second half of the year, Qian Menglong, who started with a class, unexpectedly won the first batch of special-grade teachers in Shanghai after the Cultural Revolution.

"The proposal of the' basic formula' has become a sign of a sharp turn in my fate. For me personally, its significance is equivalent to the first' milestone' on the long search road. "

A word "stone" shows Qian Lao's trekking complex of being uneasy about the status quo.

After decades of exploration and practice, Qian Menglong has formed a relatively complete set of "three subjects and four styles" Chinese reading guidance methods, which has established his unique position in Chinese education in middle schools. In 2005, 76-year-old Qian Lao gave a demonstration class to the participating teachers at the repeated invitation of the organizers of the fourth national experimental seminar on new education. When this less flashy and more down-to-earth classroom was questioned, Li Zhenxi, the representative of the organizer and a famous Chinese special teacher in middle schools, told the participants one thing after Qian Lao's report:

At first, after Qian Lao accepted the invitation, he planned to take a class in the Dead Sea. Later, considering that all the students in the class are high school students, it was changed to the lesson "The most beautiful tomb in the world". But before we met, he changed again. He said it was not good to speak in his own class, so he chose an extracurricular reading, Sleeping Beauty. I have never seen this content before.

This is Qian Lao, who always takes his feet as the starting point and dares to challenge himself at the age of 76 and has created a brilliant career for more than 50 years!
