Cixi Sanshan Senior High School is a newly-built municipal ordinary high school, which was founded in June 2003 and is located at the intersection of the Municipal Education Bureau, the Party School of the Municipal Party Committee and the Municipal People's Hospital.

Cixi is a county-level city under the jurisdiction of Zhejiang Province, managed by Ningbo City, and named after An Dong's "mother's kindness and filial piety" in the Eastern Han Dynasty. Cixi is located on the coast of the East China Sea, on the south bank of Hangzhou Bay, 60km east of Ningbo, 0/48 km north of Shanghai and 0/38 km west of Hangzhou. It is an important industrial and commercial city in the south wing of Greater Shanghai Economic Circle in the Yangtze River Delta, and one of the coastal economic open zones approved by the State Council.
