Understanding and views on special education
My understanding and views on special education are as follows:

Special education is to educate special objects by using special methods, equipment and measures. Special education in a narrow sense refers to the special education scope for the physically and mentally handicapped, that is, education for the blind, hearing-impaired (deaf) children, mentally retarded children and problem children, and supports such education from the aspects of economic investment, scientific research, teachers and equipment.

In the current social development trend, people pay more and more attention to special education. Building a high-level, high-quality, high-level and innovative teaching staff to meet the requirements of the times is an inevitable requirement to adapt to the reform and development of special education in China and push the cause of special education to a new level.

The unbalanced development of special education in many aspects is very prominent:

1. The enrollment rate of compulsory education in remote and poor areas needs to be improved. Compared with the overall development level of education in advanced countries and China, the enrollment rate of compulsory education in special education stage is still low.

2. The degree of regional balance needs to be improved. The enrollment rate of compulsory special education in developed areas is relatively high, especially in Jiangsu, Shanghai and Beijing. However, the overall popularization rate of compulsory education for disabled children and adolescents in some provinces in the eastern region is not high, which does not match its economic development.

3. The construction of special education teachers needs to be strengthened. At present, the number of special education teachers and rehabilitation teachers in China is insufficient, and there are problems of insufficient pre-job training and post-job training. Many teachers have not received professional training and have no professional teaching methods, which makes it difficult for disabled school-age children to receive professional special education and improve the quality of special education.
