Hanbi Building was built in 1922 and was destroyed by Japanese invaders in War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression. 1July, 964, it was converted into a revolutionary memorial hall according to its original appearance. The rebuilt Hanbi Building covers an area of 2,820 square meters, with a building area of 930 square meters. It is a two-story reinforced concrete brick-concrete structure. The word "Hanbilou" in front of the building was inscribed for Guo Moruo, vice chairman of the National People's Congress Standing Committee (NPCSC), former member of the presidium of Nanchang Uprising Revolutionary Committee and director of the General Political Department.
During the first and second revolutionary civil wars, Comrade Zhou Enlai had been to Hanbi Building on four whim. 1927 In early August, the "August 1st" Nanchang Rebel Army led by Zhou Enlai, He Long, Ye Ting, Zhu De and Liu Bocheng went south and entered Chaozhou City on September 23rd. On the 24th, the main force of the rebel army marched into Shantou, and carried out the second division: He Long and Ye Ting marched into Jieyang and Fengshun, and the revolutionary Committee organs stationed in Shantou; Zhou Yiqun led the Third Division of He Long Department, took thousands of guards to guard Chaoshan, and stayed in Chaozhou, with the HQ located in Hanbilou. The Chaoan County Committee of the Communist Party of China cooperated closely with the rebels stationed in Chaoshan to mobilize the masses and establish the red regime. Post the notice of Commander-in-Chief He Long's daughter to calm people's hearts and publicize the purpose of the Rebel Army; The activities of mass organizations in agriculture, industry, commerce, education and women have resumed; Develop the Red Guards of Workers and Peasants, help the Peasants' Self-Defense Forces to eliminate reactionary vigilante groups and crack down on reactionaries; Open Chaoan prison to rescue imprisoned revolutionaries; Suppressed a number of reactionary local tyrants and evil gentry, confiscated their property and distributed it to the poor ... The insurgents launched a vigorous revolutionary movement in Chaozhou and extended it to Chaoshan counties. Due to several crazy encirclement and suppression by the reactionary Kuomintang troops, the insurgents were defeated and left Chaozhou on September 30. Nanchang Uprising Army entered Chaozhou from September 23rd to 30th, which lasted for 7 days. Chaozhou people called this period "Seven Days Red in Chaozhou". ? [2]?
As a patriotic education base, the renovated Hanbi Building was recently opened to the public free of charge with a brand-new look. The exhibition hall in the building is divided into two parts. Downstairs is "the people's good prime minister"-introduction of Comrade Zhou Enlai's life; Upstairs is the special exhibition "Chaozhou is red for seven days, and the history of Qing Dynasty hangs for a thousand years".
