The National College Students' Information Consultation and Employment Guidance Center is a public institution directly under the Ministry of Education, and it is a specialized institution specializing in college enrollment, academic certification and graduate employment information consultation and guidance services. 1998 with the approval of the central organization establishment Committee, the original "National Employment Guidance Center for College Graduates" was renamed, and a new student information consultation function was added.
In 20001year, the Ministry of Education entrusted the center to undertake the technical, trading, online inquiry and certification services for the electronic registration and filing of national higher education diplomas. On this basis, after several years' efforts, the center has built a student information data warehouse that integrates college enrollment information, academic information, graduate employment information and national student financial assistance information. Relying on the large-scale data warehouse and China Higher Education Student Information Network, the center has developed several sets of e-government platforms for the student affairs office of colleges and universities and other related units, and carried out a series of information consulting services for college students.
In 2008, based on the needs of transforming government functions, strengthening public services and comprehensively serving college students' employment under the new situation, the center opened a three-dimensional public service platform for college students' employment nationwide.

In order to show the concern of the Party and the government for poor students from ordinary undergraduate colleges and higher vocational schools and help them complete their studies smoothly, according to the State Council's Opinions on Establishing and Perfecting the Financial Aid Policy System for Poor Students from Ordinary Undergraduate Colleges, Higher Vocational Schools and Secondary Vocational Schools (Guo Fa [2007]13), the national financial aid policy is implemented.
