In the new era, the China Municipal Government attaches great importance to vocational education, placing it in a more prominent position in economic and social development and educational reform and innovation. More than 70% students in vocational schools come from rural areas. "One person receives vocational education, one person gets employment and one family gets rid of poverty" has become the fastest way to block the intergenerational transmission of poverty, and has played an important role in tackling poverty and building a well-off society in an all-round way in China.
Vocational education shoulders the heavy responsibility of cultivating diversified talents, inheriting technical skills and promoting employment and entrepreneurship, and has made outstanding contributions to supporting the transformation and upgrading of the national industrial structure, improving the level of China's manufacturing and service industries, and safeguarding people's livelihood.
