Quanzhou Normal University, located in Quanzhou, one of the three central cities in Fujian Province, is a first-class discipline construction university in Fujian Province, an implementation institution of the excellent teacher training plan of the Ministry of Education, and a demonstration application-oriented undergraduate university in Fujian Province.

Established with the approval of the Ministry of Education in 2000, the school is the first newly-built local provincial undergraduate college in Fujian Province.
