Each school will select senior high school freshmen according to the comprehensive quality evaluation level and the students' academic level test.
Wang Jianying, deputy director of the Education Department of Yunnan Province, said that the "senior high school entrance examination" reform is an urgent need and key link for Yunnan to thoroughly implement quality education, fully implement the national curriculum plan, standardize school-running behavior, comprehensively improve the quality of education and teaching, and promote the balanced development of compulsory education. By 20 12, the freshmen are the first batch of junior high school graduates to cancel the senior high school entrance examination, and the academic level examination will replace the senior high school entrance examination. In principle, they will complete a science and a subject, and their scores will be divided into four grades of ABCD. Usually, the school will establish a growth record for each student and record their all-round development. When they graduate, the school will conduct a comprehensive quality evaluation, which will also be divided into four grades of ABCD. Academic performance and comprehensive quality evaluation will be an important basis for high school admission.
