Grass-roots league schools are the central league schools of the Communist Youth League of China, the highest institution of higher learning organized by the Communist Youth League of China, the education and training center of Communist Youth League cadres, and an important base for the Communist Youth League to cultivate and bring up young talents in the new era and across the century.

Since the Third Plenary Session of the 11th CPC Central Committee, the Central Youth League School has made great progress. 1982 According to the requirements of the Central Committee on the revolutionization, youthfulness, knowledge and specialization of cadres and the assumption of the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League on the normalization of youth league school education, the school began to hold two-year junior college classes. From September 65438 to September 0983, a two-year college class for in-service League cadres was held for three consecutive years to train leading cadres engaged in the work of the Communist Youth League.

With the care and support of the CPC Central Committee, 1985, in September, with the application of the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League and the approval of the Ministry of Education and the State Planning Commission, China Youth Political College was established on the basis of the Central Youth League School, while retaining the name of the Central Youth League School and undertaking the dual functions of general higher education and training of Communist Youth League cadres.

Since then, the school has entered the national education series and become the only ordinary higher education institution directly under the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League. After the establishment of China Youth University for Political Science, together with the Central Youth League School, it has two brands and a set of institutions, and undertakes the dual functions of general higher education and training of Communist Youth League cadres.
