The Education Bureau is a government department. According to the regulations of People's Republic of China (PRC) Organizational Establishment Committee, the Ministry of Education is the government department in charge of education and language work. The highest authority of the Education Bureau is the Ministry of Education.

The Education Bureau itself is an administrative unit, and there are some administrative personnel (civil servants), mainly the administrative personnel in the bureau, most of whom are career staff, mainly teachers. The teachers who are officially compiled are all compiled by the local education bureau. And almost every unit has supernumerary personnel in the form of employment or secondment.

The main responsibilities of the Ministry of Education

1, comprehensively implement the national education guidelines, policies and regulations, study and formulate specific national education guidelines and policies, and organize their implementation.

2, study and formulate the national education development plan and annual development plan, formulate the focus, scale, speed and steps of education development, organize, guide and coordinate the implementation of the national education development plan, annual plan, education system reform and school-running system reform.

3, responsible for the national basic education (including preschool education), special education, vocational and technical education, after-school education, adult education, higher education (including social forces running schools), coordination, guidance and supervision of the education work of districts, counties (townships) and relevant departments.

4, responsible for the construction of national teachers and education administrative cadres, responsible for the national primary and secondary school principals qualification; Participate in the formulation of relevant policies and rules and regulations on personnel management in the national education system; Guide the reform of education and personnel system, and organize the implementation of employment distribution for graduates of normal universities.
