Chengdu Agricultural College is a full-time general higher vocational college jointly established by Chengdu Municipal People's Government and Sichuan Provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs. It is a high-quality vocational college, the first batch of modern apprenticeship pilot colleges of the Ministry of Education, and a demonstration vocational college in Sichuan Province.

It is the teaching base of Sichuan Demonstration School for Deepening Innovation and Entrepreneurship Education Reform, Sichuan Construction Quality School, National Rural Revitalization Talent Training Quality School and Sichuan Training Base of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism.

It was selected as the first batch of pilot units of undergraduate vocational education training reform in Sichuan Province, the construction plan of high-quality vocational colleges in Sichuan Province, the construction plan of high-level vocational colleges and specialties with China characteristics, the national "Hundred Schools Project" and the comprehensive reform pilot universities of "Three All-round Education" in Sichuan Province.

Scientific research achievements:

According to official website of Chengdu Vocational College of Agricultural Science and Technology on July 20021,a number of new agricultural varieties, such as begonia, apricot, malting barley, black sweet corn and bitter gourd, were successfully bred, resulting in economic benefits of nearly 2 billion yuan. In the past two years, the school has won the second prize 1 item of Sichuan Science and Technology Progress Award and four third prizes.

As of February, 2003, the professional bases and practice platforms of the school have successively won two second prizes and six third prizes for scientific and technological progress in Sichuan Province, two third prizes for bumper harvest in agriculture, animal husbandry and fishery in China, and two second prizes for scientific and technological progress in Chongqing 1 item.

There are 2 outstanding achievement awards in social sciences in Sichuan Province, 2 scientific and technological progress awards in Suining City, and the breeding of new varieties of corn, bitter gourd and barley has passed the national, provincial and municipal examination and approval (confirmation) 17, and has presided over or participated in 8 local standards, vocational skills standards and group standards in Sichuan Province.
