"Oh, stop it, these three students are my original students. You don't know, they study very hard until four or five in the morning every day ... ""I hope my children can study half as hard as they do ... "Such conversations can be heard all over the country. This is not an isolated phenomenon.
Why is this happening? I think the whole society distorts the meaning of learning and education.
So what is learning (education)? Let's start at school.
Schools are the product of the great industrial revolution. At first, it was just to train a large number of skilled workers in the factory. Later, because of the development of society, education gradually extended to minors and even children. Of course, the knowledge of ordinary school education has also changed from teaching practical skills to teaching theoretical skills, which is what we now call knowledge. This is paving the way for our better work.
However, due to the continuous development of society, companies or units need a large number of senior talents to serve their own units or companies. They think that having a higher education diploma now belongs to having knowledge, so they raise the education graduation standard of academic qualifications from the original high school graduation to junior college or undergraduate graduation. In this case, parents let their children study hard. Moreover, parents have to study for their children to cope because they have to take the senior high school entrance examination and the college entrance examination to enter the university. For the sake of high sales of their own materials, information providers have to take the minds of many parents and publish materials with conjectures about the topics of the senior high school entrance examination and the college entrance examination. Because of the high enrollment rate, under the influence of information providers, middle schools began to implement "exam-oriented education" from the seventh grade of junior high school, as if learning was to cope with the senior high school entrance examination and college entrance examination. This becomes a vicious circle. In fact, I think it is not as good as the previous research.
For example, in Nanjing, a city with strong education, whenever the night falls and the lights are on, the conversations of families of different classes and occupations are almost always around learning. One of the most discussed topics in work and friends' gathering is children's education, and 99% of children's education is children's study.
This emphasis includes material and spiritual input. According to statistics, in Nanjing alone in 2003, parents' summer training expenses reached 1 100 million yuan. A banker in Nanjing said that the cost of training their children in the summer vacation was 5,000 yuan.
According to the information records of a psychological counseling room, 99% of the topics of telephone consultation and face-to-face consultation are about children's learning problems.
An educator surveyed a city and found that parents are most concerned about their children's study.
The present situation of the only child, the pressure of further education and employment, and the pressure of study make parents have to turn their energy to their children's study. Parents learn from their children's obsession. This is the present situation of education in China.
Since it is inevitable, you can only change your view of learning. How can we change passive learning?
1. Understand what learning is. There are four concepts in learning: (1) Learning is a process of seeking knowledge. (2) Learning is to actively develop oneself in the communication between teachers and students, rather than passively accepting theoretical knowledge. (3) Learning is a process of honing creativity and making continuous progress. (4) "Learning is a very interesting game, which makes you swim forward involuntarily".
2. Enhance your interest in learning. As the saying goes, "Interest is the best teacher" and "Without interest, there is no learning (ancient Roman proverb)". Your interest in learning will motivate you to study harder.
3. Learning is interesting. For example, learn by computer, recite words by electronic dictionary, recite texts and so on, so that you will be interested in it.
I wish you all better grades.
