Hongwu Road Street was established in June 1955, formerly known as Longwangmiao Street, and renamed Hongwu Road Street 1978 in June. 1Feb. 988, the division was adjusted and merged with Mafu Street to form Hongwu Road Street. From June 5438 to February 2008, it merged with Jiankang Road Street, and the name of Hongwu Road Street has been preserved to this day.
The street starts from Qinhuai River (Dazhong Bridge to Fucheng Bridge) in the east, ends at Zhongshan South Road in the west, ends at Changfu Street, Hubu Street and Yangpi Lane in the north, and ends at Jiankang Road and Shengzhou Road in the south, covering an area of about 2.73 square kilometers. The street governs 10 communities, with primary and secondary trunk roads 10 and 54 back streets and alleys.
