Women's Day holiday for half a day! Just next Tuesday (March 8)
The provision that women enjoy a half-day holiday comes from Article 3 of the National Holiday and Memorial Day Holiday Regulations issued by the State Council. Women's Day is a holiday for some citizens, so it is a "legal half-day holiday".
According to the Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare document [2000] 18, during the holiday period of some citizens, the unit shall pay wages to employees who participate in social or unit celebrations and work as usual, but overtime wages shall not be paid.
Holidays coincide with Saturdays and Sundays, and if the unit arranges employees to work overtime, it shall pay overtime wages on rest days according to law.
