Oppose superstition

The power of science is changing the face of the world more and more powerfully. Science and technology are the primary productive forces, and scientific thinking is an important spiritual force, which has increasingly become the consensus of people.

The history of our party is a history of advocating science and breaking superstition. The course of socialist construction from the birth of China to the founding of New China to fifty years is a process in which our Party persists in leading the people of the whole country to get rid of superstitions, emancipate their minds, work hard and revitalize China with the Marxist scientific world outlook, and it is also a process in which our scientific strength is constantly enhanced and our scientific and cultural quality is constantly improved. But we should also see that in this process, there is always a struggle between science and superstition. In recent years, in some places and units, ignorant and superstitious activities have risen, and anti-science and pseudo-science activities have occurred from time to time, which has affected our work and cause to varying degrees. It is particularly noteworthy that some cadres in party member believe in astrology, divination, geomantic omen and fortune telling, and are keen on praying to God and worshiping Buddha, becoming prisoners of idealism. As far as influence is concerned, in some places, science can't resist superstition, materialism can't resist idealism and atheism can't resist theism. This goes against the development of the trend of the times and is incompatible with our historical responsibility.

Science and superstition are opposites. To advocate science, we must get rid of superstitions. Science includes social science and natural science, including scientific knowledge and technology. It is human's understanding and grasp of the laws of nature and social development, and it is the lever and cornerstone to promote historical progress. Superstition is a kind of ignorance, a kind of fear and submission to natural and social forces. Today, ignorance and superstition will paralyze our thoughts, disintegrate our fighting spirit, shake our beliefs and undermine our cohesion, which should be highly valued.

As a college student, we should have scientific spirit and scientific method. We young people should love and admire science and establish a scientific world outlook. The revelation of the law of social development by Marxism has opened human eyes for the first time from confusion, which is called the magnificent sunrise in the history of human civilization development. "Internationale" reveals that "there has never been a savior, nor does it rely on the immortal emperor. It is up to us to create human happiness, which fully shows the awakening of human consciousness under the guidance of scientific Marxist world outlook, which is a great historical progress. Facts have proved that the Marxist scientific world outlook is a powerful ideological weapon for us to defeat all enemies and all difficulties and obstacles. We must hold high the banner of dialectical materialism and historical materialism, be highly alert to the erosion of idealism, resolutely get rid of superstitions, closely integrate with reality, strive to improve the Marxist political level and scientific and cultural level of party member cadres, especially senior cadres, become firm Marxists, and make our party, country and people stronger.
